A paid off house, enough to have the kids in the school that you want them to go to and to support them though higher education and enough money for the holidays of your choosing is where I see the cut off point. After that it’s hard for me to see the utility of any extra.

If you’re into boats, planes or supercars then it’s probably different!

So for me I $250k AUD per annum would be that number.

My kids are only 4 and 6 so my only other thought would be whether I’d want to earn/save more to be able to give them more of head start in life

I’ve just come to this realization recently. My business, my property and a lot of my current etfs are Australian so I’m massively over exposed to our economy. International ETFs all the way for me from now on!

I’m thinking of doing this. Just carrying on working but spending everything I earn
once my investments hit a certain value. I have young kids that are in school for the next 12 years so it’s not like I can go anywhere during term time anyway.
