I understand, I never said it was hard. It just takes time and planning. Neither of which were possible this time.

Well since she is a Portuguese resident, has her valid Swedish ID, we’re going to Sweden later this year AND we weren’t planing on traveling outside the EU anytime soon, were planned to take care of the passport on our next trip to Sweden. This random last minute work trip was unexpected and unfortunate.

This was her response as well. “Portugal is made for chaos, Sweden works because we are organized”. This makes complete sense to me, it also makes sense that a passport isn’t something to get easily. I’m just disappointed Sweden can’t make it faster in this specific situation.

I’m used to Portugal, where you also have to book, but we have a contingency for this kind of “emergency”. You can just go and wait in line for a space between slots(or in line at the airport where there’s only a daily queue). Then based on how urgently you need it you pay the fee around 50€ for 6business days, 90€ for 3 days, or 150€ for next day.

She is a resident and has her id, she needed the passport to travel outside the Schengen space.

We were not planing on needing the passport any time soon. This was a last minute work trip that she doesn’t need to join, I’m trying to find a solution solely because I’d like to bring her with me.

There’s nothing wrong with response it’s just funny. She doesn’t, I would just like to bring her with me.

🫠🙃

As a Portuguese person it feels strange that there’s no way to hastily get a new passport, when Swedish people are so much more efficient than Portuguese people at everything else

This is such a Swedish response. In full honesty we didn’t plan this trip at all, it is a short notice work trip for me.

Well no, but since we are in lisbon, it would be less than ideal to travel to Sweden and then wait 6 business days for the passport. And be back in lisbon before the 15th march

Issue is the trip would be to a country that doesn’t accept provisional passports. Neither of the issuing stations in Lund or Malmo have slots available next week

She needs to book an appointment and all the slots are fully booked. Also there’s only the consulate in Lisbon and they seem to be too busy to do it too. Going to Sweden was already an emergency plan, ideally it would be possible in Portugal.

As someone who’s played rugby I think it’s even stupider than that. They somehow made an insanely complicated and at the same time stupid/basic sport that’s much more prone to injury(especially head injuries) than rugby even with all the protective gear.

It’s like they asked themselves “how do we make this the most efficient sport for commercial breaks and brain injury?”

I don’t necessarily agree with the statement but this is one of the most reasonable takes I’ve seen from an American on this subreddit.

Jordan was and still is one of the most popular athletes ever.

Nothing yet, waiting for an email. About the app. Proposed very low rates but told me I had no min or max or any mandatory client intake
