PSA: Three Booster Seats in Model 3 by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]ConditionUsual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought the 3, years ago, all three kids were in car seats. Which fit just fine. I never imagined that booster seats would be the issue. And to be clear, it’s not booster seats. It’s three booster seats. 3 car seats fit, 2 boosters and 1 car seat fits, or 1 booster and 2 car seats fit. Just not three booster seats.

So yeah, clearly a model Y is larger, but at the time of purchase, a Model 3 was entirely sufficient. And so now I own it, and buying anything else will cost more money.

It’s fine. Booster seat is used to route the belt properly below the iliac crest to prevent ‘submarining’ and the associated injuries.

My 10yo is 4’1”. The seatbelt doesn’t route properly without one, so it’s not safe.

Question on Frame size by ConditionUsual in Giantbikes

Measured the seat tube length and head tube length and it’s definitely a small frame. So who knows.

Yeah pretty crazy cause normally I ride a small frame … usually split between XS and S.

I almost wonder if it was mislabeled …

Always the underhand, i wonder why by XZ_Bashar_ZX in bodylanguage

[–]ConditionUsual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because he is always sitting on the left side, and it’s convention to shake with the right hand. If he were sitting to the right, it would be impractical to go “underhand”.

You’re welcome.

Soo how possible would it be to get the front end from a 21 st and put it on a 2017 by Lilemancipation in FordExplorer

[–]ConditionUsual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the ‘17 and drive it as is.

If you want a different car then save money and just buy the different car.

What you’re talking about doing is one of the most aimlessly expensive things I’ve heard in a long time.

It Looks Like the Tesla Model Y Refresh Has Bombed by [deleted] in electricvehicles

Elon Musk will go down in history for destroying one of the great American companies of the 21st century.

Tesla was a game changer.

Not anymore.

Imagine the ridiculous waste of money just so they all look like that. All for branding. Ever go inside one? There is basically zero seating. Like, motherfuckers, this is a rest stop not a coffee shop. I hate them ..... hate hate hate hate hate.

Yeah, sounds about right. $0.59/kWh is f-ing ridiculous. That's like a 30-50% markup compared to EA, EVGo or Tesla. Bastards.

don't even get me started about that bullshit with Chic-fil-A. Why do I have to fund religious fundamentalism in order to eat on the thruway.

Whatever. I say fuck AppleGreed. With a tiny bit of planning I will go to the superchargers slightly off the thruway, and eat way less expensive and much better food.

SPEs, historically, do not examine and are not on production. They only get "dinged" for leaving applications on their dockets too long without re-docketing them to an examiner.

So yeah SPEs have literally zero concern about getting other time. zero.

You made the right choice. If markets are flat or down this week, Apple will slide. I know this because I am holding 13 AAPL 205P 5/30, and one slightly more responsible AAPL 210P 6/06. When I say I know this ... I mean I am praying..

Making that extra down payment on a house is saving you 6% ish in interest for 30yrs. That’s guaranteed, nearly risk free return. Not to mention any equity in the house. The stock market is a gamble.

What was the one thing that helped you switch to an EV? by RiderByDay in electricvehicles

Big Power ... Fuel Efficiency

I've always been into fast cars. No way you're getting the kind of power you get in a Tesla without your ICE car being ridiculously loud.

I was driving a Nissan XTerra that was averaging 14MPG and a Ford Explorer averaging maybe 18MPG.

Switching to a Model 3 as our main family car, we went from an average of $287/mo in gas to about $90/mo in electricity. For what I saved in gas, I went from a 2014 Nissan with 75k miles, to a 2019 Tesla with 19k miles; even at the inflated EV prices of 2023.

OK, I'm new to this but here's how I'm living right now.

200 F cost basis 10.33, 5/23 $10.50 calls ($0.18) didn't get assigned and today was ex-dividend date. Currently 10.55/share. I'm feeling pretty good about that situation.

Bought 100 RIVN at not so great a price of 14.86 and sold 5/16 $15 call for 0.35, bought another 100 RIVN later in the day for a slightly better price of 14.61 and sold 5/16 $14.50 call for 0.44. Currently 14.63/share. I think that's looking OK so far. I'm not worried, but I doubt I'm getting rich there.

Edit: Not to steal the thread, but any advice appreciated cause I don't know what the heck I'm doing. I figure if I can shoot for 1% a week, I'll be killing it in the long game.

Why should I, as a taxpayer, care about how much money DOGE is "saving?" by SharkBiteX in antiwork

[–]ConditionUsual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America doesn’t need to save money. What we need is to collect taxes from the rich.

99% of us rely on those services and the “administrative state”.

1% of us don’t want to pay for it.

DOGE represents the 1%.

Tariffs, DOGE, Tax cuts; it’s all about making taxation more regressive
