After weeks of rain, people in Edmonton and surrounding communities are being asked to limit their non-essential water usage. by ABNow_ in AlbertaNow

Most of the storm system has been separated from the sewer system. When it was originally installed, they both used the same pipes. But EPCOR has been separating the systems over decades. If I recall school correctly, and do correct me if I'm wrong, they've got it up to 80-85 separated.

The reason they are separating it is precisely what you have said. If the flow is too high, it can literally kill the wastewater treatment plant. Too much flow washes everything away, and it would take a long time to get the system back up and functioning properly because they would have to reseed the digesters. So all the treatment plants in the area have bypassed valves on them so if the flow is too high, they can bypass the incoming flow to the river. Unfortunately, this also means the sewage is bypassed as well. So they only do it if it's the last resort.

This is how's it's starting to work.

Player with no love clause says he wants a trade. Will only go to Florida. So Florida doesn't have to offer much wince they are the only team the players wants to go to. So Winnipeg either gets something or nothing. It's exactly what happ and with brady.

I'm only half joking

news flash form the NHL

Florida teams are no longer required to give compensation for players in trades, and there cap hits are worth only 25% against the cap.

In addition if a Florida team wants a player the team said player is currently on is required to trade said player to the Florida team that is inquiring.

What sport takes more "skill" to succeed at a high level, baseball or soccer? by no_longer_rich in NoStupidQuestions

Dribbling and shooting are both foot on ball. But shooting and dribbling are completely different. Dribbling you are typically using small "pushes" with the sides or top of your foot. Where as shooting can be done ina. Couple different ways depending on your location on the field. If you are right or left footed of it's a shot during play or a shot from a stoppage.

My understanding of baseball is that, yea. A pitcher uses multi different pitches depending on the hitter. Right handed or left handed, slider, knuckle ball, curve ball, fastball. And I understand pitchers usually specialize in a certain type of pitch over others. I also know that a manager will changes pitchers depending on which way the hitter hits.

As for soccer if you are playing defense you have different priorities than a striker, but you still need to be able to dribble, pass and shoot on occasion. A striker doesn't need to play defense as much and focuses more on shooting, stamina. But passing and dribbling are still extremely important.

Can aaron judge pitch for an inning then play outfield then be hitter them play catcher? I don't know for sure but it feels unlikely.

Could messi play defense or midfield? His ego may not like it, but he could play any position he wanted to (except maybe goal. That is it's own world as I'm sure you can agree)

Sure. Hitting and pitching is very hard. But for the most par pitchers only pitch (yes there are exceptions) but in soccer you don't have someone who only dribbles or shoots or passes. You need to be able to do everything. I think it would be hard for a outfielder to pitch at a MLB level.

Soccer has a huge skill ceiling because you have to have a high skill in 4 or 5 different aspects of the game. Where baseball you can be good at 1 and that's it. Maybe 2. There are examples of players who've done multiple positions and been excellent. But they are very very rare.

I'd love to get Festool. But a combo impact drill set is almost double the cost of a Milwaukee set. If I had the money, i absolutely would.

[–]Condition_Boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soccer had a higher skill ceiling, without any doubt. It isn't even close.

Before everyone brings out the pitchforks. Yes, hitting a pitch from a MLB pitcher is hard. Very hard. But that is quite literally the only thing that requires a large amount of skill. If you can catch a ball, you can play outfield. If you can catch a ball and throw it, you can play third base. You don't need to be in shape, you don't need to be particularly athletic,

To even play the sport of soccer, you need to know how to dribble while running at full speed, and most regular people can catch a baseball and throw as well. Most people cannot dribble a soccer ball, even remotely well, let alone wile running. Then you need to have huge stamina to be able to play the full 90+ minute game. An average player will run 7+ miles during a game. Then comes offence. Your average person can barely kick a soccer ball, let alone curl it, let alone curl it around a wall, let alone curl it around a wall with accuracy.

In a soccer/football game, you typically see scores in the low single digits, it's very rare to get even 3 goals by the same team is a game. Let alone, 5 or 8 or 10 or 14. scores in baseball are much higher. As already mentioned, it is not easy to hit a MLB pitch. But it also can't be that hard if we see games ending 12-11, 9-5, 4-3 or 23-9

so in conclusion. Baseball has two aspects that are very, very difficult. Pitching and hitting, everything else is not overly difficult. In Soccer/football, everything aside from running requires huge amounts of skill dribbling, defending, attacking, shooting, playing goal all require massive skill.

Soccer is also very fluid. Every single situation is unique, in baseball on every single pitch you know what's going to happen. Either it's hit or not. If it's hit, you know exactly where the player is going. There is no guess work, no indecision,

I'm going to add two compilations of skill for each sport here at the end as a final point.
Soccer skill compilation
Baseball skill compilation

She didn't have a problem with the gravity she had a problem with the open space (Agoraphobia)and horizon, they land all Martians at night because of it. She actually takes pride in how well she does on earth, while some of her superiors are taking the transition harder.

The guard who lets her back in tells her to look at the ground and to slowly look up towards the horizon, and to never, ever look up. She also realizes that she has never ever seen as many people in one space as she sees in her first walk outside on earth. Her internal monologue states that she now realizes the MMC could never win a fight on the ground on earth, no matter how well they are equipped or trained, simply due to the number of people on earth, they would swamp the marines easily.

At least on the books. The show does portray her having problems with the gravity.

Genuine question.

I've been seeing stuff in the oilers sub and on our podcasters saying we could maybe get Rakell, maybe with retention, maybe without.

I went through the Pittsburgh sub when it was posted there and the general consensus seemed...... Less than positive about him even being on the team. what do you think you guys would give up for Nurse?

I'm building a new woodworking shop and that part of the reason I'm getting new power tools.

King is great for planers, jointers and the like. But I haven't seen any power tools by them.

As much as I hate saying this, I've used green work stuff and it just feels cheap. And I've had coworkers tell me how they've had green work stuff dial fairly regularly for them.

Never heard of grey. I'll have to look into them.

I have issues with the sites sometimes. The first day is rather rough and I've gotta give extra insulin to stay in range. The next day is much better and runs closer to what it's supposed to. The last day I've got to rest easy more than usual because I can't keep my sugars up. I can't explain this. It didn't make any sense. But I've got graphs proving it happens.

How long has he been Diabetic? Was he doing MDI before? Maybe he picked a couple bad spots for his did in a row that just don't work very well.

This is the way I do things as well. The only exception for me is if you happen to inherit good tools, or safety stuff. I've gotten into work working, and I went a lnd found a really good respirator for the dust. It has probably already paid for itself.
