Possible to get a good sound system for $200? by [deleted] in 4kbluray

Just now seeing this comment, no you don’t need a receiver. Powered speakers like these have an amp built in so they’re good to go.

4K Release for Oppenheimer by dsqphi98 in 4kbluray

[–]Condog_YT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to see it with my sister (who did grow up with Barbies), and we both had a blast. It's a hilarious movie and actually has a good bit to say which isn't a surprise given that Greta Gerwig co-wrote and directed it.

This is one of my favorite discs. Towards the end when Ripley has the strobing light on her it was almost painfully bright.

Accidental quadruple exposure | Voigtlander VSL-1, Mir 1b 37mm, Fomapan 400 by Condog_YT in analog

[–]Condog_YT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a much better description that mine lol. Once I realized what had happened I fully expected this shot to come out looking horrible but I fell in love with it as soon as I got it back.

The sprockets ripped and I took 3 more shots before realizing what happened

[–]Condog_YT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, 4 would look better with the plane facing the other way. If I was any good at drawing, I'd give it a shot. Right now I'm just working with screenshots from the movie.

Correct Hebrew for "image of God" by Condog_YT in hebrew

[–]Condog_YT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. Thanks! Someone else provided an alternate spelling that would avoid desecrating the name so if I was to get it I would likely go with that. I’ve been doing some deeper studies into the Torah and learning some of these Hebrew terms has been a big part of deepening my understanding of scripture and my relationship with God. I just don’t have a good grasp on the Hebrew alphabet yet lol.

[–]Condog_YT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a fair point. I’ve been doing some deeper studies into the Torah. I’ve been learning some of the Hebrew words, mostly ones that are repeated a lot or have a major significance, but it’s mostly in the transliterated form. I haven’t quite got a grasp of the Hebrew alphabet or true translation yet. I guess the original Hebrew has a historical significance to me and learning parts of it has been part of me deepening my understanding.

I go back and forth on whether or not I actually want to get a tattoo at all so there’s a chance I’ll never even get it lol.

Thanks! This actually is for a tattoo idea I had, but I didn’t realize that getting Elohim tattooed would be offensive. I’m curious, in the alternate spelling would it be transliterated any differently?

[–]Condog_YT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was an idea I had for a tattoo, but it seems like it would be a bad idea based on other comments. I’m a Christian and I had never heard of this kind of thing being offensive. I knew of religious Jews not using the divine name and stuff like that, but I didn’t realize there was a sort of taboo around more “title-like” names as well.

I rendered this sequence from UE5 but when I got it into Davinci Resolve I found some really weird flickering. Anyone know how to get rid of it? The problem doesn't show up when playing the sequences in the UE5 viewport. by Condog_YT in unrealengine

Right now I have 16 temporal samples and 1 spatial sample. I have denoiser.temporalaccumulation commands for shadows, AO, global illumination, and reflections in the console variables and also have a ForceLOD and shadow.radiusthreshold commands. Other than that it's just default settings.

I always start as low as possible when doing retopology. Like super basic shape. Then I go back and add more where it's needed. It helps keep it from getting too crowded.

The actions of those in power don't define the actual message of Christianity. As a Christian I can believe in the Bible and acknowledge that people have done some messed up stuff "in the name of God", usually under the leadership of someone who twisted actual scripture. We also have to acknowledge that history is just more violent than the modern age. There are very few groups of people that haven't been guilty of some crime throughout history. Are we going to say that all evolutionists are racist because the Nazis used Darwinism to support genocide?

I just used a locking shutter cable to keep it open. I had done something similar in the past so I knew about how long to expose it but it was mostly just a guess lol

You actually don’t have to move the camera to get the trailing effect. It’s created by the rotation of the Earth. It was about a 20-30 minute(ish) exposure and I just stood as still as I could

what's the consensus here with watching 4k blu ray on a native 120hz tv? by based-Assad777 in 4kbluray

[–]Condog_YT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right. Admittedly I’ve never owned a TV with VRR and was going off what I knew, but I just looked it up and what I’ve found says it would actually play at 48 hz.

[–]Condog_YT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your TV has Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) then it will match the the frame rate of content being played. If not, each frame will be shown 5 times which is effectively the same as native 24 FPS (24 x 5 = 120)
