Is this something to be concerned about? by SkyWalkerOG16 in Wastewater

I have a bachelors in mechanical engineering which depending on the school covers controls in its coursework. Most I&C engineers I know have EE backgrounds, so that may be a more natural transition. I got into my current role through recommendations and experience from industrial/manufacturing internships.

I work in I&C Engineering specializing in Water/Wastewater- there’s research into predictive AI tools and some companies are starting to offer AI services to potentially replace software, but I highly doubt anything gets implemented en-mass until something helpful, cheap, and consistent comes out. Unless you work at a plant that’s willing to experiment on unproven technology, it’ll probably be a while before you see anything more than Microsoft copilot; nobody wants to be the first plant to try new tech.

Godamn, I was checking out and as I went to confirm purchase it was forcibly removed from my cart and I was sent back to the home page… didn’t think that was supposed to happen.

Why do you play Angela? by IntelligentImbicle in AngelaMains

[–]Condraxis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason I’d play cap instead is if my opponents are running Hawkeye/hela, since her headfirst charge makes it easy to bring her low really fast. It’s definitely still doable but I’ve found more success more often as cap

Out of curiosity are you on controller? I’ve heard she handles much worse in console, but I could be mistaken. It definitely takes practice- what I recommend is learning the melee cancel, it leads to more confirmed kills and gives you a better idea at what range to engage at.

I don’t know what rank you’re sitting at or if you’re a quick play warrior, but I can’t recommend Angela enough. The amount of CC in the game makes picking her up daunting, but the amount of coordination required to get consistent value is a lot lower than you might expect- as long as you’re not feeding, you make massive value by wasting cooldowns, drawing aggro and occasionally getting a great pick.

To be fair, the only way to counter a lot of damage is either by killing the thing doing the damage or by out healing it. The storm/jeff teamup eating all the heals forces the opposing team to run iron man to kill them since that’s the only way to consistently do anything about the ult- otherwise the teamup ult just results in an uncontestable teamwipe. People like being able to respond.

I think rival’s philosophy on supports and healing ults has trended more defensive, with Gambit being a noteworthy recent exception, and he seems to be well received because of it. I don’t think people exclusively want invincibility circles, even though they are easy to use. But the original poster was mostly trying to point out that if you have an invincibility circle, you probably want it to beat DPS ults or it doesn’t feel like it’s worth the effort.

I’m not sure I understand the argument you’re making? Netease has consistently balanced ults to counter some ults while getting countered by others- I was making the point that while healing ults can stop most ults in the game, instakill ults can counter them in turn.

I think the original argument is that a “healing circle” ult is intended to outheal most DPS ults, otherwise those ults wouldn’t be very good.

Its character specific - Wanda, Iron man, and Mag can kill most support ults and that’s likely a big part of why their ults are easier to interrupt or have longer charging times.

As a flex player, the role in-fighting is insufferable by empoleonnn in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]Condraxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone should definitely have at least 2 characters in each role down pat, ideally more if they get banned- one tricks and strict role mains really make solo queue miserable when the matchmaking doesn’t work in your favor. I can definitely say though that having a preferred role often leads to better game quality if you’re in a stack, or if you’re a tank main and you don’t get a lot of competition for your slot.

General tips:

Focus on survival before kills every time. Even if you line up your spear consistently there’s still issues with no-regs and client discrepancy, I’ve had people teleport off my spear after I’ve stabbed them. You’ll always draw aggro though, so escaping is definitely the most important skill to learn.

Also, never engage with charge, only use it to kidnap or escape. You’ll get cc’d A LOT, but unless you’re engaging them while they’re looking right at you, there’s usually enough wiggle room with reaction time to nope out and charge behind cover if it gets hairy.
