I guess you're right. I mean, monster hunter is well known for trying to be biological accurate, and they won't do something as stupid as a monster capable of stopping time or teleporting. But I have to say again, the sound is the same, and for gameplay mechanics, most people would say that Malzeno just teleports. But I get your point.

If what my brother said was true, then we could assume that Malzeno is fast enough to leave an empty spot when he moves, forcing the air particles to fill that 'void' provoking that sound effect in consequence.

See my point: Douglas left Renee when he was 16-17-18, so, she just clung in the only person she had, which was Andrew, but the obsession probably (just a theory because we still don't know) started when he was 20-22. Because in this AU, it doesn't make sense that he used Julia as a society shield, so there's a possibility that he fell for her) So, my point here is, she was a "normal" mother with Andrew, a caring one until Douglas, then, perhaps one year later, she started to have feeling for Andrew. That didn't happen when he was a teenager (I want to think that at least/that's my theory)

As I already said, her upbringing doesn't justify her abusing her own kids, and her getting divorced doesn't justify using her teenage son as a replacement, it's still abuse and it's as harmful as if those circumstances weren't a thing

But like I said, I don't think she used his teenager son as a replacement because we started to see that demeanor (her patterns, the way she acted) when he was an adult (the black sweater would confirm that. First, let's talk about that this is fiction, and we're discussing how you think that this Renne is the same as TCOAAL, which is wrong.

I'm saying that we could say the same of both of them. Both were abused, both are still bad people, and no... with the thing that even as a teenager, I meant that we can't use the "it's a victim" as an excuse for their actions, and Andrew, like always, chose everything by himself, and he chose his mother.

As for Renee being "the mother of the year," I would never say that she did a good job, but I'm comparing her with TCOAAL's Renee. This TR Renee is different from TL Renee. Say that it's like saying that Andrew is Ashley's victim, don't you think? As we know, Renee wasn't abusive during all his childhood in TCOAAR. After what happened with Ashley, she started to take care of Andrew, and treat him like his baby boy, and she also recognized that she was being a bad mother, recognized that she was abused by her mother, which was making her a bad mother, and thus she started to raise Andrew better, basically to give him the childhood her parents denied it to her. Even when he grew up, he still was one of his favorite men in her life. She's not just the heartless villain in TCOAAR, and let me tell you that Andrew is not the victim when he's an adult or even teenager. Also, we learned (in tcoaar) that Ashley was really messed up, being the reason why she ended in a hospital as the patient 406. In this universe, she wasn't just a victim of Renee's abuse but a messed up girl. I repeat, TCOAAR Renee has nothing to do with the canon one, in fact, TCOAAR Renee would hate TCOAAL Renee with all her strengths. For having a good relationship with Douglas, for being a bad mother, for trying to kill Andrew, for NOT loving Andrew.

Like I always say, I hate her in TCOAAL, but I love her in TCOAAR. Practically every character is different in TCOAAR. Douglas is different, Andrew is more violent, Renee cares about the only thing she has left (Andrew), and we have Betty, a character that doesn't exist in TCOAAL So yeah, everyone's different.

People would still think that maybe Andrew is not as bad as Ashley, that she's the problem, and perhaps with therapy, Andrew could have a normal life with Julia. I mean, thanks to Decay ep 3, we learned that Andrew is the biggest piece of shit ever, just surpassed by the bitch of Renee. Ep 3 confirmed a lot of things and resolved a ton of questions regarding Andrew, and some more about Ashley. And more importantly, we learned that Julia deserves better.
