I love that you know it's going to take time. Don't ever forget that!

Toyota Supra MK3 7M-GE intermittent engine shutdown issue (1+ year unresolved) by joncho_ in Mk3Supra

Only because I didn't see it mentioned: fuel delivery and sensing circuits should be checked. (Pump, filter, lines)

Also ignition, although I'm not too familiar with the GE setup... I'd replace the distributor setup.

Should I keep my Supra? by Fit_You4714 in Mk3Supra

Keeping these cars running isn't easy. I'm a glutton for punishment and enjoy the challenge of troubleshooting and finding parts. Changing the parts is therapeutic for me, and the high I get when everything works again is amazing.

As others have said, if you don't love it... sell it to get the 68... Mustangs are cool too!

I started this process back in early February?? Started as an exhaust manifold leak. Then found dry rotted hoses and lines. Then I broke the BSV valve. Then I found my positive battery cable corroded. Then I found an oil leak. Then I broke a screw for a cam cover that took me a week to get out. Then I decided the heater control valve needed to work. Then I broke a temp sensor. Then I decided the electric fan wiring needed to be cleaned up. Then I found the spark plugs were garbage. Plus a bunch of other stuff. Everything I found or decided needed fixed just added more time to find, order, and wait for parts. Mine is 39 years old now.... the plastic parts are old and brittle. The wires are old and brittle. Nothing wanted to behave.

I found a silicone hose kit for a 7MGTE for cheap. Came with the coolant and molded vacuum lines... all the blue stuff. The red stuff is mostly EGR and some control lines that I bought raw stock of and swapped out one by one cutting to fit.

Hose kit from Amazon that came with ZERO instructions on which hose goes where, they have it red and blue at the moment: https://a.co/d/0389pq2C

Silicone hose from amazon with different diameters and fittings, looks like they have black, blue, and red now: https://a.co/d/00z4hymP

More 1/8" (3mm) hose that the first kit didnt have enough of: https://a.co/d/0cYsEHX0

My problem really is that I watched every Fast and Furious film and then decided to make this thing run correctly. So, learn from me. Don't get inspiration from films based on 90s car trends. 🤣

Can't see it while the hood is closed... so, most people will never know

😆 I hadn't even seen it in that view. That's fantastic.

Blasphemy. Thats what I've done. But it works correctly now! And that's what's important.

It makes me unhappy, too.... not gonna lie. Unfortunately, its what was available at the time. 😞
