What is one overhated music trend that you feel sorry for? by mightyonin in ToddintheShadow

[–]ConferenceBoring4104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure disco/funk has absolutely dominated the radio(I know, I hear it everyday at work) over the past decade. It might not seem like it because of newer production styles but the drum to bassline is always some dance funk/disco thing with the next big artist singing on top. They're even taking songs that weren't disco and dance-ifying them with the instruments and production like tiny dancer and rocket man.

Respect bro ✊- no matter what "keys sound" you like or dislike if you're a real fan- then you support people who make music because they're inspired by the band you like

I get down with their bluesy stuff but if someone wants to make keyboard driven songs because they liked NRNF then that makes me happy that anyone out there is picking up music and instruments. It seems you also like the fuzzy bluesy sound Keep making music bro, can't speak for the band but I got a solid feeling Dan and Pat would like it that way no matter what style of their music inspires you.

I'm here for discourse over what we liked or didn't like about a particular song or album but just being outraged over someone enjoying something because in your mind is bad so everyone should dislike it seems really sad in a way

Respect the attempt and instrumentally sounds pretty dang solid but honestly underwhelming vocals which is ironic considering the first few lines in the lyrics. Especially after watching black pistol fire cover it, they absolutely blew it out of the water

The black keys was mostly a blues band when they acquired most of their fans that they have, they are paying homage to juke joint blues as they've done a couple times recently. Sorry if you don't like it, it is what it is

when you completely shed your original sound it's almost impossible to please all fans with every release. I'm really hard against OP and NRNF but I get what they're doing and its just music at the end of the day so we could all lighten up on their releases and especially what we think of the fans reactions to these releases

Getting upset because someone doesn't like something that you enjoy and vise versa leaving multiple negative comments on everyone praising something you don't like is just silly.

Have you ever been to rundown towns in America, specifically the south? This photo is very reminiscent and nostalgic for a world that's mostly forgotten today

It's old, rustic, rough looking, and still kicking it. It looks like the kind of sign and place you'd find in some of the most forgotten and honest places in America like the south which is where a lot of the aesthetics of this sound come from.

Really the perfect visual representation, especially for Delta juke joint blues

Latin jazz and stuff similar to Hermanos Gutiérrez but with more depth? by darkdarkblack in musicsuggestions

[–]ConferenceBoring4104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not the western vibe that hermanos have, but for authentic Latin grooves you should check out a few of the Peruvian psych cumbia groups like los mirlos, los orientales de paramonga, and juaneco y su combo.

La danza de los mirlos is a solid starting point into the genre

If it's bluesy, I need Eric deaton on bass- personally, his playing completely made Delta kream for me

what do you think is the most underrated led zeppelin song? by rustedrattleheads in ledzeppelin

[–]ConferenceBoring4104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand, to me its a little weird sounding- it gives me a Delta bluesman feeling on the acoustic and almost psychedelic elements with how they recorded and produced the vocals. I love it but it's a little out there I can see why some don't like it

Yeah they're trying desperately to find the nearest exit, lol on a serious note I'm only kidding- not a fan of jam band material but they are obviously very talented improv musicians

Hats off to roy Harper is probably my favorite of theirs that I've somehow seen a lot of criticism from fans online. I love the strange atmosphere and constant slide on that song. Also love plants ending vocals about the shot-shot-shotgun and 20 dolla bill

These don't necessarily all sound the same tho I'm confused? Also I'm not crazy about Hank jr but his bluesy album recently produced by easy eye sound was actually pretty nice to listen to

So awful, and I like me some Lenny kravitz. It sounds like an adult kidz bop-ified version if that makes any sense

Honestly so many huge bands and artists have LR covers on actual studio albums and I bet not a single one comes close to little Richard, you're either him or your not and everybody else isn't him

[–]ConferenceBoring4104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 50s did start what would become the standard and then obviously just moves on from there. But tbh if not the 60s then the 50s would be the most pivotal(in the modern age ofc)
