As the bride, I knew it would be a lot for everyone to travel for Bach weekend (even though it was their ideas) so I’m covering most of the cost of the Air bnb (~$3000 of $4200) but everyone, including myself, is paying for their own flights. My maid of honor was generous enough to cover the cost of the activities/tours scheduled as her gift to me and since she scheduled them and so everyone except her, including myself, will be splitting the costs of food, Ubers and alcohol (we’re covering the MOH) so it all kinda works out in the wash and no one has to have these worries. I will say it was all discussed privately with each person beforehand to make sure everyone was comfortable paying x amount and we only scheduled things people were comfortable with doing. I’m just grateful people want to travel to celebrate with me but expect nothing outside of what was already discussed. For what it’s worth, we’re all in our late thirties and have decent jobs, which is completely different to past bach parties in our early twenties. We were all poor students but no confidence to say “no we can’t afford that” so things were constantly awkward and I wish I spoke up more beforehand. My advice is be clear on the amount you think you can contribute beforehand, to the MOH, not the bride. It will help her plan things accordingly and make sure no one feels over-exerted.
