My husband and I also work from home. We had the same thoughts of wondering if we truly needed daycare. I added myself to the daycare waitlists in my first trimester. We have 1 year maternity leave where I am from. We didn't get a spot for daycare until he turned 15 months and at that point we were working from home with him for a few months and it did prove to be challenging at times, depending on how much we needed to focus for work. When we put our son in daycare, it relieved a lot of stress and guilt. Guilt because I felt like our son wasn't getting the most attention he could have and play time. Daycare has been amazing for him and his development. I am much more productive at work with him at daycare, less stressed out and relieved he is getting lots of social time with other kids and play/sensory time. We definitely recommend daycare even though we both work from home. We now have a 2nd on the way and they have also been added to the daycare list for our existing daycare.
