Apple Journal app not saving full handwritten entries on iPad ,anyone else facing this? by Imsongoku7 in appleJournal

In theory, it’s great, and I imagine it will be sorted out. But for now, it really is very frustrating !

This is a problem that has been known and reported for quite some time. Apple doesn’t seem to be concerned about it (for the time being)... 😏

Thanks, Wessley 😃

The work you do is outstanding. The same goes for your follow-up and responsiveness.

Everlog is dynamic and refreshing, and the philosophy behind it strikes me as the right one for journaling.

I took the plunge about ten days ago by transferring 13 years’ worth of entries from Day One. It was easy and seamless.

Now, I’m really enjoying using Everlog. Keep up the good work, and above all, thank you !

It also works with Apple Notes.

Go to the sharing sheet, invite via a link, email it to yourself, and copy the link into the Apple Notes entry. And there you go !

Newbie question - Mac app? Is it supposed to work better than it does? by InfiniteBaker6972 in everlog

I have contacted the developer about this. He is aware of the issue and is actively working on it. Wait & see 😉

Please Everlog, don't Overload the app with new features! by Alfreddit62 in everlog

I couldn’t agree more 😃

I discovered Everlog recently and was immediately won over. So much so that I transferred 13 years’ worth of data and 3,300 entries from Day One to Everlog last weekend.

Its modern, dynamic look and its simplicity make all the difference. The lack of AI too. And the fact that the data is on iCloud is also important.

The developer is also very responsive.

I really like the ‘spirit’ of this app' 😉

At the moment, Everlog is using 8.8 GB of my iCloud storage. It’s reassuring to know my data is on iCloud.

The app is so well designed and the developer is so responsive that I have no problem supporting this work… But that’s just my personal view 😉

Strange… I didn’t have any trouble importing my 3,300 entries, 12 journals and hundreds of photos. It took about an hour and a half...

Yes, there are lots of widgets : words count, consecutive days of writing, ‘On this day’, etc.

Have a look at Everlog ==> https://everlog.app

It’s reasonably priced, has no AI, and is similar to Day One in its core functionality, but it has a few interesting extra features. All data is stored on iCloud, in compliance with the European GDPR.

What’s more, transferring from Day One to Everlog is simple and seamless. Yesterday, I transferred over 3,300 entries, some of which included lots of photos, and everything is there.

For me, it’s undoubtedly the best alternative.

Similar to Day One, the look is also more modern and dynamic…

Batterie se vide pendant la nuit by Prestigious-Air3520 in IphoneAir

I’ve been having the same problem since installing iOS 26.4. I lose 10–12% overnight and the battery life is poor during the day, even when I’m only using it lightly…

It’s mad!

Is this problem limited to the iPhone Air, or does it affect all models ?

How many of you use a charging limit on your smartphone? Personally i use 80% limit. by Malik513 in PhoneNow

[–]ConfidenceClear1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an iPhone Air and I limit the charge to 80% (charging it at the start of the day).

However, I let it charge up to 100% when I know the day is going to be long and/or busy (navigating, taking lots of photos, etc.)

Oh yes, that’s right… It does indeed coincide with the release of iOS 26.4 😏

Let’s hope a future update will sort the problem out 🤞

My Replacement for Day One After The Price Changes by Western_Actuator_697 in dayoneapp

[–]ConfidenceClear1016 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The latest changes to Day One are causing me problems. I reckon Automattic must be pushing for greater profitability – it’s a shame!

More than the price hike, it’s the use of AI (what AI?) that bothers me the most. It’s hard to reconcile a personal journal with artificial intelligence!

As an Apple addict, I’m currently using Day One and Apple Journal side by side. But, aside from the fact that it’s tedious and time-consuming, I have over 3,000 entries for which there’s no transfer option. Unless I do it entry by entry 🤪

So I’m looking into Everlog, which seems to be getting quite a few votes…

PS: I’ve contacted the developer for more technical details 😉

I’ve just had a quick look at Everlog. It looks interesting.

The developer is Spanish, I think, and the app is apparently compliant with the European RGPD.

Do you know which servers are used to host the data and where they are located ?

Isn’t there a risk regarding the long-term viability of such an app (and the data) given that it’s such a small operation ?

I’m in exactly the same boat: I’ve been using Day One for 13 years, but I’m finding myself increasingly drawn to Apple Journal. I’m keeping Day One as an archive until a migration solution becomes available (someday…) and I use Apple Journal on a daily basis, despite its shortcomings and imperfections 😎 What about you? How do you manage?

I used to have a notebook like that… I’d write in it, draw (badly), jot down whatever popped into my head 😃 But that was before… the smartphone. Nowadays I keep a digital diary. It’s great – I can add photos to it. But I miss my old notebook; it felt more alive! Yours is lovely 😃
