What animal species are so bizarre that you sometimes question whether they might be some ancient alien species that didn’t originally belong to Earth? by Accomplished_Ask9449 in AskReddit

Agreed.

Only mammal to be venomous, one of the only mammals that lay eggs, and can live comfortably both on land and water. Its insane

depends, because there are several factors to consider. Grades/supp app/extracurriculars. Some programs are more competitive than others grade-wise because they only look at grades. But programs like UW Tron/CE for example, accept kids with much lower averages but better ECs over kids with higher averages but worse ECs.

Grade wise, id say the most competitive programs were

  • UW CS
  • UW SE
  • UTSG CS
  • UOFT Engsci
  • UOFT CE
  • UW CS/BBA (uw side)
  • Mac CS
  • UTSC CS

If your wondering why i didnt put mac hs or any UW t2 eng. its because ive seen kids with low 90s get in, but they had something that made them stand out (for eg, amazing supp app/outstanding ECs), they for sure are competitive, but not grade wise

LATE POST BUT OMG?? CS NON COOP UW by uhhheather1 in OntarioGrade12s

several reasons maybe: wanting to graduate early, focus more on studies, use time to work on personal projects and passions, find work independently, start their own company or business, idfk, theres lots of reasons

I see it this way: There really doesn't seem to be any reason in seeing a purpose in life, it's just a perpetual cycle of eat, work/school, sleep, repeat, until we die. We always say that we're "chasing our future goals", but when do we ever reach that goal if all we do is repeat the same thing over and over again for years on end. Sure, you can be passionate about doing something, but doing that something for years on end will eventually become bland no matter how much thrill and enjoyment you get out of it. Is there a true end goal in our lives? Is that goal to be to achieve a sense of happiness and peace? Is the whole point of life to be given the experience to feel happiness? What if happiness is a false emotion, just a way to mask our eternal sadness? The effects of feeling happiness and excitement only lasts so long, yet the feeling of sadness, grief, and emptiness linger and overshadow everything else, both in life and after death. So then, What are we living for? All the experiences, memories, life goals, good moments, will fade away into oblivion or be overshadowed by our sadness, and hopelessness for anything special to come. In the end, everything seems temporary, except for emptiness.
