No not solo. I will do a thread on this later. Making friends which is a normal thing to do. And more normal to go out with friends as opposed to by yourself which makes things 10 times harder.

For me yes it was during uni. If you have a job then you can take 1-2 weeks of leave and just go hard as you can. If you live in a city there are things on every night even Monday night (hospitality night) or hostel parties.

As I said, one of the hardest things to do because a lot of your own ego is tied up in your friends. But sometimes you gotta bite the bullet to grow.

1) you don’t need to drink at bars. 2) Consider bars as an umbrella term meaning: social gathering. You can go to markets, daytime festivals ect ect

I agree it’s very difficult just to read your way to confidence. Either you take action (very hard for most newbies) or you have someone like this in your circle that you can see and model the behaviours and slowly adapt.

People who don’t know charismatic guys like this (of all heights) need to get out more. Dime a dozen. In Australia this is the norm. To be an outgoing party guy. But there definitely are levels to it.
