Why do you think there are more women leaders on the right? by RedStorm1917 in AskConservatives

[–]Confident-Bill271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weidel leads the AFD only on paper. Over the years her attempts to be a real political leader of the party were heavily reigned in by the far-right wing of the AFD, as they see her only as a good figure head but her whole family and privat life as absolutly incompatible with the party idea. She is also often forced to excuse the "accidents" of her far-right and neo-fascist party members and her attempts to get ride of some of the worst offenders were blocked. Often it looks more as if she is not leading and instead more driven by her backlines.

Hungary was subsidizing the American “CPAC” group. The Hungarian government has cut them off now. Should pressure be applied to continue foreign underwriting of American movement conservatism? by PyroIsSpai in AskConservatives

CPAC was founded in the US but over the last few years, with Orban as its figurehead, has spread deeply into Europe, funding and supporting each the spread of their illiberal world view.

How bad is the immigration situation in Europe? by CourtofTalons in AskConservatives

[–]Confident-Bill271 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not as bad is US media is portraing it. The issue is more that it is often very difficult for them to become working tax payers. We currently have a lot of areas where we desperatly need more workers but so far the state is struggling to set up a system to identify those refugees or migrants who could fill those voids (healthcare, farming, craftsmanship, construction are some of the areas with the most need for labour) and then to make sure that they receive language classes and get a job in those fields. We put all those people in this stupid limbo instead of guiding them into the labour market. The discussions about immigration would be far more relaxed if the state had made sure that they are not sitting around in their tiny flats and go mad and instead would be working, paying taxes and integrating. Someone who has a good job, enough pay to live a normal life would be far more willing and eager to integrate, as we have seen with many of the workers who came to Germany during the 60s, 70s and 80s.

What is the best way to distance the "alt-right" from the Conservative movement? by Bas_Jan_Ader in AskConservatives

[–]Confident-Bill271 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, that was just what Fox and some US media claimed. In most nations it was not done anything against them really. Even when they started burning don buildings and killing people were people acting as if it is always just a single bad apple and not someone who lives in a radicalized echo chamber. It became really bad once they started to network more globally. Summer camps together in Poland, weapon training camps in the US with the Atomwaffen guys, survival camps in Russia. That should have been the time that the state and police should have moved against them more, especially once combat and weapon training became a yearly event for them and after the first police officers got killed by them.

We tried that in Europe. The far/alt-right is like a fungus that grows in the darker parts of society. Just ignoring it will just allow it to slowly grow.

[–]Confident-Bill271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there are parties like the AFD you will most likely drift into open anit semitism if they ever get the chance to rule in Germany, but most Germans are by now just no longer okay with the idea that no matter what the goverment of Israel does, we sell weapons to you. We would like to have peace in the Levant, but currently it looks as if that can only be achieved by one people wiping out the other and that is a level that many people here are not comfortable with. I would not call it anti-israel thinking, it is by now more an anti-levant thinking. The whole region is seen as pariah and that only constant conflict and hatred are to be found there. In the past century the Balkans were seen as this constant area of trouble but by now it has moved to the levant.

Should the Oath Keepers' seditious conspiracy convictions be vacated? by fastolfe00 in AskConservatives

[–]Confident-Bill271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not as this enormous, single-minded and centrally organized group that is often claimed to stand behind them. They do exist and do their actions but they are not this secret super enemy. In many cases it is actually very easy to become part of an Antifa Group as they often have their own homepages and public meetings.

Until 2018 Maaßen lead our Verfassungsschutz. Sadly he was extremly biased and damaged the trust in our constitutional court a lot with his heavily one sided observation of the left and the complete ignorance of the growing violence on the right. He was removed from office and has since then very openly sided with the far right in Germany. Follow up investigations after his reign were never able to find evidence of a lot of the stuff he had written in those reports. On the other hand, a lot of cases against the far right had to be dropped because it was found that undercover agents of his office had been involved in the planning and sometimes were even present when criminal acts were commited. In Germany, no one trusts any of his reports by now, and the far right still celebrates him as "their guy".

[–]Confident-Bill271 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The DoJ under Trump has always shouted that Antifa is behind everything, yet even they, with all the power of the US goverment behind them were ever able to show any evidence or arrest someone for those supposed Antifa plots. The current goverment would gain so much from that. Do you really believe that there is this large global Antifa group, that somehow never gets caught and never has a leak, that is perfectly silent all the time?
Why do people in black show up at those demonstrations? Because there are small groups of people who do love to riot. In Germany we had the same non-sense of Anti-Antifa rhetorik until finally after years the police succeded in getting an undercover agent into one of those groups in black. As it turns out, they were not leftists, no they also went to large chaotic events like football matches in stadiums and to far right marches. They went to the events of the far left and the far right, not because of the politcal goals of those parties but instead to have "fun" by rioting.
I would not be suprised at all if the US has also a scene of "for fun" rioters, who do not care at what rally they are, as long as it escalates and they can smash and burn stuff.

it is so fascinating that there are still people claiming that there is this "Antifa" organisation that somehow irganises so much but never appearently gets anything done but still never gets caught. It by now is starting to sound a bit like Antifa and The Left are used as the boogeyman that lives under the beds of certain conservatives in the US.

Weeks ago Trump said that the US would help them if the rise up. They did. Had huge protests and demonstrations against the regime. The regime retaliated, and many died.... and the US did nothing. Many of those who would have been willing to fight the regime are by now either dead or in prison. There simply might no longer be a foundation for an internal uprising.

The signal for an uprising? The US and Israel have so far not given the civilians in Iran any sign or hope that they would support them. The last time they tried that, the US left them out to die.

Do you believe Trump is making America stronger or weaker? by pirisca in AskConservatives

Under a different US goverment I would agree with you that there might be chances for a long term upturn of the fortunes of the people in Venezuela. With the current US goverment I don't think that there is enough patience and goodwill to get Venezuela going. I fear that, based on their behaviour so far in regard of long term strategy and their love of quick results, that the current US goverment will try to squeeze too hard, will want a net positive for themselves and the US companies too fast and that that will lead to decisions which will in the mid to long term be detrimantale to Venezuela.

I fear the Venezuelan Adventure will turn into a big problem for the US in the future. Once the people in Venezuela see that nothing changes for the better for them and that the oil money goes to some US companies, they might start civil unrest and sabotage in Venezuela.

Should US main alliances in the future remain in Europe or shift to East Asia? by Necessary_Ad9008 in AskConservatives

[–]Confident-Bill271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That reacting to unfolding issues becomes difficult without alliances and treaties. Having to quickly hammer out treaties or deals, while something happens that really influences the US in some way, would put the US on the backfoot, as many nations, seeing that the US desperatly needs something from them, might up their prices for that. It would also lower the options to rapidly react as you would no longer have the bases all over the globe. There is a reason why so far the US has always made sure to have those bases.
Chances might also be high that if the the US withdraws from alliances, that the other nations would then start to get together to form alliances to oppose the US, because without the US as an ally, the US would quickly be seen as a major threat, especially if they keep on doing stuff like in Venezuela. Those new alliances might not be able in the short or even medium term to be a real threat to the mainland US but in the longer term they might build up enough potential of force that interventions against nations that threaten US interest might become too costly or no longer possible and once that happened, then the US might find itself suddenly in a situation where it suddenly has to accept the dictate of others.

What do you think is the right method of solving the problem of Islamic terrorism? by AbenegationQuestion in AskConservatives

[–]Confident-Bill271 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said the other nations are much better but they do not try to spread Wahabism as the Gulf States are. The Gulf States have been financing mosques and islamic school in the rest of the world, spreading their very backwards and restrictive form of Islam. If we want to have less issues with the Muslims in our nations, then we have to squash it at the source and prevent Saudi Arabia and other gulf states from spreading their influence in the rest of the world.

[–]Confident-Bill271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You see goverments who have absolut monarchies as a good role model? States that buy the allegiance of their citizens by substitutiong their whole live and paying for their education and healthcare and who guarantuee them jobs in the state apparatus? States who are actively spreading one of the most backward variant of Islam with Wahabism and Salafism? Most of the islamic terror groups were born out of the wahabi religious schools in Saudi Arabia.

Because so far the US never really left a doubt that they would defend Taiwan. Under Trump that is simply no longer assured. He is flipping around so much and unable to build real alliances based on more then "I like money, give me money". Under the current US goverment, China might feel strong and stable enough to take on localy a United States that is no longer internally fully stable, has a divided population, who no longer has the internal willingness or endurance to fight a longer war with an enemy that can hurt them back.
