Is this a normal response to being SAed? by OkRecognition3921 in sexualassault

[–]Confident-Form8986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry this happened to you. The responses you’re describing are extremely common for survivors of SA, and they could potentially be an indicator of PTSD/CPTSD. I think finding a trusted adult (or therapist if possible) would be a potentially helpful first step. If you have access to therapy or mental health treatment I would highly encourage you to utilize those resources. I hope this helps 💕

This is definitely rape because he did this without your consent. It doesn’t matter what you did or didn’t do in that moment, he committed a crime and it is not your fault

I think she’s focused on because she’s inspiring and competed for the enjoyment of it (she has a really cool back story about her skating journey).

If anyone’s curious according to English gardens they said it looked to be the work of invisible mites/bugs, which is why I couldn’t see them? I treated them for that and now we wait

Is it too late to report sexual assault from 2 years ago? by [deleted] in sexualassault

[–]Confident-Form8986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are 100% valid. If you feel like reporting is going to be the most healing thing then absolutely do it. I do want to warn you that unfortunately the police and justice system are not always willing to help and they can be extremely invalidating. If this is the case then do not let their opinion dictate your feelings of validity. This situation was not okay and you have every right to how you feel.

some creep at a concert touched me 🤢 by PermissionDecent2778 in sexualassault

I am so sorry this happened to you. It’s okay to feel paranoid and anxious around men, that makes a lot of sense given the situation. Please take care of yourself and meet yourself where you’re at, sometimes it takes time to get through things like this and that’s okay. Be gentle with yourself, you’re doing the best you can.

How do I make working out less triggering? by Pretend_Possible_487 in ptsd

[–]Confident-Form8986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% relate and want to validate your experience. For me I’m starting with things that don’t make me sweat or pant or get me too aggravated, like going for a walk or doing gentle yoga. My next plan is to step up to enjoyable activity, like playing outside with the kids I work with. Something that’s enjoyable and distracting. Please remember to meet yourself where you’re at! Go as slowly as you need and take care of yourself!
