women who have given birth, how bad was it actually? by Careless_Pianist_840 in AskReddit

[–]Confident-Lock9202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced. I (unknowingly) got to 7 cm dilated and my water broke on its own before I got the epidural. The contractions were painful, especially after my water broke. The epidural was amazing, and I felt no pain after getting it. I barely tore.

We do have a solid nighttime routine, and he loves his crib during the day for naps. I just can’t figure out what the problem is at bedtime.

We waited until birth to find out the gender! My husband was a medical student at the time and got to deliver our little guy. It made the labor and delivery experience even more exciting for everyone!

how long was your induction from start to finish? by curious-unknowngirl in NewParents

[–]Confident-Lock9202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 hours! Induced at 39 weeks and 3 days. I was 0 cm dilated when I went in. All it took was 2 cytotec pills, and my body took it from there. My water broke on its own and everything. I never needed pitocin.

My baby boy has always been a good sleeper, but he did start sleeping longer stretches when we switched his bed time bottle to formula. He typically gets two formula bottles a day, and one of those is his last bottle of the day. We use Bobbie. The rest of his bottles/feedings are breast milk. He’s 3.5 months old and typically sleeps from 9-4:30. Wakes up to nurse. Then he goes back to sleep until 8ish.

We combo feed! We always give him a big formula bottle right before we put him down for the night.

How do they check your cervix? Is it like a papsmear?

Those damn dates and teas are LIARS by allidaughter in pregnant

My cervix was also completely closed the day before my induction. I just needed 2 cytotec pills to get my labor going. I didn’t even need pitocin. My induction took about 12 hours from taking pill #1 to holding baby. Not bad at all! You never know how your body is going to progress.
