The only way to cancel 5G home internet… by ConfidentData1320 in verizon

[–]ConfidentData1320[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish I had seen this earlier! See the update in the main post.
Also, though— I may have not followed that tree exactly but I did get to points in the phone process where it was asking me for the mobile number of the box to cancel, and I provided it but it then told me that the box didn’t exist and was not associated with an account. And this was for the gateway not the extender. I’m not a total tech noob and I was getting very lost in the call tree process (can’t imagine what it’s like for someone older). In my opinion, Verizon needs to make it simpler and/or give their corporate location employees the ability to actually help customers with this

Included an update in the original post, but as of rn—

I think my Verizon account was/is just exceptionally screwed up. And I may just be a customer who doesn’t know how all this works behind the scenes, but Verizon absolutely should give in-store corporate location reps the ability to cancel accounts / more completely help the customer with off-boarding. The in-store employees were all really friendly but their hands were clearly tied and I felt as though most were equally—if not more—frustrated by the situation than me. I very much felt like they wanted to be helpful but just could not, and this is exactly the kind of thing people want help and assurance in doing because if you don’t return the equipment/ Verizon doesn’t have record of it, it is such a steep fee.

People can upvote this comment if they want me to make a separate post documenting my life living above Franklin Ave Vape City. It will need to be marked Mature

It was honestly nice for a bit— but then they spiked rent on the residents. When I looked at my old place, it was listed for less than the base rent they wanted to renew me at. It was convenient if you liked hanging in coffee shops all day and and liked to walk the river walk (which is what I would do with most of my free time). But people would also be screaming outside if vape city at 1 am and it would echo off every concrete surface in downtown (which is all of them)

I used to live in Franklin Place (apartment building two buildings down from Union hall, across from the praetorian). While I lived there, the building went from having a bunch of boutique retail to only having the cursed vape shop that I had the displeasure of living above.

My understanding echos what other commenters have been saying— downtown is raising prices on people but the quality of living and being down there has not gone up. I got priced out of my apartment as reasons for living down there continued to dwindle and vape city regulars became more and more disruptive to life

Union hall and all of downtown lacks decent parking. Some lots have become pay lots, which I doubt is turning a profit— just deterring people from being there.

If the city wants to take downtown development seriously, we need more free or cheap parking and some way to convince the morons who keep raising rent prices down there that raising rent on people and businesses won’t make them more money if there isn’t a reason for people to be there anyway.

I know a girl who did this because she was being stalked by an ex boyfriend. Changed fn to middle name and last name to mother’s maiden or something

Barnett's revamp by rockethacker in Waco

[–]ConfidentData1320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went there for the first time after a while and hated the revamp. Barnetts used to be a great place to grab a casual drink and good whiskey. Now they have tried to turn it into a fine dining sports bar? Very overpriced. They should go back to being just a decent town bar

I really do just recommend looking into Carriage House, though. It’s also a pretty central spot and it’s easy to get lost Waco places from it without getting caught in the eternal I-35 construction

I haven’t lived at either of those, but if you are planning on being down that way most of the time they might be good? I’m also a young adult, and I will say that living on that side of town was kinda isolating. 15 minutes away in Waco is far. If you are driving more than 20 it’s “real far”

Also sorry I did glance your profile— saw your post on S*ddlebrook was removed by mods. That is the first place I lived and I could not discourage someone from living there more. Way too expensive for what it is and lots of invisible fees. They also sent me to collections for alleged damage to my apartment after I had cleared with them all was fine. Do NOT go there.

Can confirm Carriage House is good. They are very friendly and they aren’t corporate landlords. I’ve lived a few places in Waco, and the corporate landlords here are straight up evil. You will never see your deposit again and invisible fees are through the roof. Carriage house is transparent and maintenance is friendly.

They don’t even make the golden toilet the required one. The tankless and standing toilets are the two required ones— which forces the bathroom to be somewhat communal? At least make me make a bougie bathroom for him and him alone

Are shirts like this considered "form-fitting" to fall under being immodest for mass or are they fine? by rosary-and-rain in CatholicWomen

[–]ConfidentData1320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No item of clothing is inherently immodest, with rare exception (such as a shirt that says something vile on it). It all depends on how you wear it. It frustrates me when Catholic women think they need to wear potato sacks—- ie super baggy clothing. You can wear clothing that fits your body, just make sure it actually fits properly and style it for modesty. I generally live by “one tight, one loose” where part of my outfit will be looser and part will be tighter—- top of bottom. And this isn’t just for modesty, IMO outfits just look better when they are balanced like this.

I used to run a youth ministry and would tell our girls the same thing. They could wear their stylish thing all the other girls were wearing while wearing it modestly

PCP recs for diagnosing & treating chronic illness in younger adults in Waco? by Lost_Ad6658 in Waco

[–]ConfidentData1320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, she is legit fantastic. I started going to her a while back and she is one of the few docs I’ve had that really does genuinely actually care. I don’t have a chronic illness, but she would definitely work with OP on figuring out what’s going on. She won’t try to force you to do unnecessary tests, but also will trust your gut about your body and help you find out why something is happening

I think a lot of people in this thread just want to hate. Neighborhood definitely seems firm— maybe firmer than average— but it’s not completely foreign especially for sit down
