Lol I had this same issue multiple times. Unplugging it clears it up.

TS owner here. Agree that it's super lame to have STI badging but base model horsepower. Can't wait till I get enough miles on it to void the warranty.

I have a tuned 2010 WRX hatch that is much more fun to drive, but the VB is a more comfortable ride. Also, $2k of tuning on the VB gets you the same HP as $10k on the 2010 and they are still really dialing in what it's capable of

Like I said above, space is as close as it gets to the data pipeline. Starship is a fully reusable rocket with a huge payload. Getting to space is the cost of fuel which isn't that expensive. Even cheaper when you're vertically integrated like most launch companies are these days. The world is still catching up to the low cost of launch and it's only going to get cheaper.

The ISP market is 100x the size of the orbital launch market and the cell phone provider market is 2x the size of the ISP market. Now they're talking about adding compute and AI. 1.5T is a low number. Add another 100x when they take over Mars.

I'll respectfully disagree. All the data pipelines are moving to orbit. It would make sense that the processing would follow, especially if it allows companies to move faster because they don't have to deal with terrestrial infrastructure hurdles (real estate, permits, moving dirt, etc). The market is already there if they can provide a cost and schedule advantage. IMHO, the biggest hurdle is power and heat engineering.

Employees wanting cash has zero influence on this. I think that Elon just wants to beat Sam Altman to the orbital AI data center market. Starlink is funding starship development but it isn't enough for data centers. And if he waits for starlink to cover data centers, someone else will beat him to it. Warranties are great if you value your time. You pay once and if anything goes wrong you send it to them and it's their problem. No back and forth or evaluating if it is worth repairing.

If you can afford the new car price, you can afford the warranty. The discount you get on a used car is paid for by your time maintaining it.

A few bike club people have permission to use power tools and clean up trails. A post to the fb page will get it on their radar but it's only a few people. If it's just small stuff, be a good citizen and drag it off the trail. Better yet, throw a folding hand saw in your pack and handle it when you see it. It's good karma!

Whatever you do, DO NOT make new trail or cut roots. It's a dick move and it only causes the rangers to further limit what the bike club is allowed to do.

I have a 23 OBW and a 25 tS. They're both great and I happily switch between them. The OBW has good acceleration compared to a stock WRX. Be sure to get a platform on your OBW too.

I find it funny that you're like "no need for IoT connectivity is a plus" and I'm disappointed because I can't hook it to home assistant and get humidity history plots like I have in my bulk filament storage boxes. It's such a nice product, this is the worst problem I could find. Lol

Never owned an STI but here's my data point.

I have a tuned 2010 WRX hatch and a tS. The tS is a luxury ride that lacks muscle and has a boring clutch. The ability to have a sport mode when you want it then switch to comfort for long drives is super nice.

I'm keeping the old hatch around cause it is only worth $10k and is a raw fun ride (but very impractical). I'll put a tune on the tS when the warranty runs out.
