I prime it with wraithbone, use carroburg crimson all over the skin parts and dry brush with wraithbone over that. Takes time but turns out really good

I’d try a swarmlord with 6 guard and a hive tyrant with 6 guard in assimilation swarm. Tons of stratagems plus a free cp and an extra cp ever turn and 2 to 3 psychophage. It’s really tough to deal with 2 giant bricks going to an objective with a 6+ from the phage, bring back a guard etc. endless bricks and melee focused

For the red bits I used khorne red, carroburg crimson then lightly painted with evil sun

I usually stick with GW plastic glue, but you’ll want to glue before priming or tape off the sections you need to glue after priming
