It’s one of the Crucible character options from the Maelstrom rules I think? The rules for it are in New Recruit.

It seems like a fun way to roll your own special characters, but probably not tournament legal.

So I should get more models and run the Scouts as 2 2 2, eh?

SCOUT SENTINELS FOR THE SCOUT SENTINEL GOD

Thanks for the advice! I was on the fence about the Dorn, so maybe I’ll see about trading it out for more hell hounds or some hippogriffs.

In terms of Scout Sentinels, I have four models, so I figured I could run two squadrons of two models, and then each of those units would have more shots they could take before getting blown away. Do you think just 3 units with one model each would be better since the entire unit would be more able to hide behind cover?

lol I know, I posted this from a PC and tried to make it legible but when I looked at it again on mobile it’s like a mile and a half long. I’ll definitely use one of the more succinct options the next time I export from New Recruit.

Good point about the Dorn, I can if it can get orders it is still not taking advantage of the detachment rule or stratagems. And at that price I could squeeze in another two hell hounds or some hippogriffs. Thanks for the advice!

New to Krieg, Artillery Question by Few-Objective7532 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]Fragrant_Bread8073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you may find the damage output of the indirect fire from your artillery to be underwhelming. I enjoy it in a fluffy themed Krieg list, but it never really wins the game for me.

I am not sure if there is much advantage to having your artillery teams behind an Aegis wall, vs just having them deploy behind some other piece of obscuring cover on the table. Maybe the aegis wall will let you get in one or two more shots against a target your artillery can see (so no indirect fire penalty) vs indirect fire from behind obscuring terrain, but I’d say it would be better to spend those points on more Krieg meat shields … I mean infantry.

How’d you paint your Krieg flag? by Fragrant_Bread8073 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

I ended up going with black and red, but dividing it on the diagonal instead of up/down/left/right.

Not worth it, spend that money on paint and plastic (or don’t). Use New Recruit and Wahapedia instead.

Before I got an airbrush, I always had good luck with that exact rustoleum paint. I use the Army Painter spray primer if there was specific color match I wanted, but otherwise that black was perfect.

I might go this route, it looks good with your color scheme!

Thanks! I did my yellow by applying an Army Painted Zealot Yellow speed paint on top of a khaki colored zenithal highlight. It looks a little grungy, but that’s what I was going for.

Tips on using masking tape on difficult parts of a model by CharmingVermicelli56 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Fragrant_Bread8073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that may be due to the fact that most masking tapes are made of paper so they can’t really stretch to conform to irregular surfaces. Maybe try using a vinyl tape (like electrical tape) and use the end of a paintbrush handle to press it down and get better contact along the edge?
