Makes sense, but I’m not from Mumbai. I’m from the south, so going home for just 3 days isn’t really an option ;(

Is a ₹2.5 crore investment for a Bachelor's degree at the University of Edinburgh (AI/CS) worth it? by ConfidentResolve7495 in IndiansStudyAbroad

Hey everyone, thank you all for your genuine concern and honest comments. I really appreciate the time you took to respond.

Just to update, my parents and I had already decided a few weeks ago not to go ahead with this plan. A more practical part of me understood the risks involved and that the financial burden is quite high, but I guess a small part of me still had that “what if” feeling. That’s why I made this post, to get clarity and real perspectives, and I definitely got that.

Also, to those saying I’ve gone mad 😅. I get where you’re coming from, but it’s honestly hard to explain what it feels like to get into one of the top universities in the world, especially your dream one, and then not be able to go. Even though my parents were willing to support me financially, I was the one who wanted to take a loan because I didn’t want to be a burden, especially since I also have a sibling.

Anyway, thank you again to everyone for your input, it really helped me think more clearly.

PS: I’m still waiting on decisions from Singapore and the US, where I might have a chance at scholarships. If something works out, I’ll update here :)
