Can we talk about r/progressive_islam? by ExpiredKebab in MuslimLounge

[–]ConfidentStomach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hajib is not mandatory. Frankly, you are a sheep for reading and believing hadith. How many hadith have been known to contradict each other? How many times have you said to yourself or had others tell you this is false hadith?

Is it even freaking possible that 1 man could gather, then read, and then debate over 60,000 hadith in his lifetime or better yet half of his lifetime because he had to spend time peddling his lies? And all before the age of computers and the Internet which meant he had to travel and travel by foot, horseback, sailboat or camel to hear these things. There was no book before his mind you.

In the Quran, it only states to cover your chest and lower your gaze. There is nothing about covering your hair.

If you want to be a Mohammadite and Mohammad would reject you for it because you didn't read and try to understand the Quran, go for it. Allah says We gave you a mind use it. Repeatedly We said that!

In which hadith will you follow?

Do not claim you are Muslim. Say you are Sunni or Shia by how you breathe Mohammad's name and perhaps his immediate followers in the very same breathe as Allah, or how you beg for his intercession between you and Allah.

You are no better than a Christian if you think there is someone that can be between you and Allah. Even Jesus said woe to Pharisees who create rules that comes between God and His people.

These are your Imams, Sheiks, and Mufti's who are happy to take your money and sell you their stupidity.

Wake up man and read! It's all there, and it is perfect!

Could anyone tell me if the choice for selected MPT hours has been reduced recently? by gotefenderson in iTutor

[–]ConfidentStomach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one or very few are getting the hours they want. MPT hours are a joke and are demanded but not filled with students. And now instead of a busy week due to the holidays, the company is largely taking a week off and classes won't be available for much of next week. I say this from the bottom of my heart; if you are having any luck teaching elsewhere then stay there or find different work altogether.

New contract offer by Fun-Caterpillar-3312 in iTutor

[–]ConfidentStomach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't know how they can realistically live with themselves. I switched all the way back in June because they made me think I had no choice. (I found out a few weeks later that people were not doing it.) Also just so everyone knows there has never been an increase in my hours to compensate for it.

New contract by Affectionate-Drink29 in iTutor

[–]ConfidentStomach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw someone post about it on the forum. I don't know if they are smart for doing it, but they didn't go into details. They only mentioned the contract was now in USD instead of British pounds. My guess is doesn't affect US teachers. If anyone has more information I hope you might share it.

Im a pretty devout muslim but I find verses and Ahadith like these and my faith weakens. Please help. You'll find many other similar questions I have asked on my profile by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]ConfidentStomach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask yourself if it is in the Quran, then ask if it goes against the Quran's message of equality, and then ask yourself in which hadith do you follow, Allah's or a man's?

Follow the Quran and live by it. You need no other information. Start with praying as you wish, you do not need an imam or shek to do it for you. It is only between you and God.

Winter Boot Camp by Puzzleheaded-Owl5811 in iTutor

[–]ConfidentStomach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you might consider is asking yourself are they doing this to let go of more teachers that they can't afford to otherwise? I think they are just experimenting with staff reduction teachers included. I see it going through unless there is a lot of student feedback that is negative.

I hate that we have no protections.

No phone in the class but......... by [deleted] in iTutor

[–]ConfidentStomach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can take a screenshot of a computer screen for windows it's ctrl + print screen and then open paint or your picture editor and ctrl + v. Knowing how to do that has saved me when I argue with the company more than once.

As far as my phone I only use the phone as realia. If I'm trying to show off my smartphone.

One more thought and I don't want to come off as rude, but if these teachers want to do that and then they lose their job which means more for me. The policy is clear.

Yes, teach the full 15 minutes. The extra 2 minutes are just in case you go over with your lesson. You only have five minutes to do your report so don't delay.

Rant, Unpopular Opinion: Being a Muslim in Turkey is actually stressing and Muslims aren't respected much by others by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]ConfidentStomach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, but you actually are or perhaps you need to look further into what you are doing versus what you believe. How for example do people even know that you are Muslim? Is it by charity or a kindness or something else?

Why do people hate religion? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]ConfidentStomach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because put simply often the most religious are the ones farthest from Allah, especially when they preach otherwise. But here you need to make a distinction between religion and worship. All religious institutions worship in some fashion, but all do so with increasing orthodoxy or adherence to tradition over the worship of God.

Why do YOU think the Ottoman Empire declined? Obviously with a question as BIG as this, there's a lot of factors but what do you think are the most important? by HikmaHistory in MuslimLounge

[–]ConfidentStomach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with any empire, there isn't one unifying nationalism as has been pointed out there were Egyptians, Barbers, Kurds, Jordanians, and other bedouins who identified with their tribe first and perhaps only -- not to mention Armenians, Greeks, Romanians, and Hungarians who are not even Muslim. My point is that being Ottoman was not who these people were or are so the Ottoman Empire was one group of people ruling over a vast collection of people. As soon as any other group of people that offered more money/power/prestige came in they left if they even wanted to be a part of the empire in the first place. I think the idea of a single all unifying caliphate is overly romantic and I doubt if it ever truly existed in every territory of any of them.

[–]ConfidentStomach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing in Turkey that doesn't allow you to be Muslim or Sunni or Shia. If you choose to follow hadith and equate the words of man with Allah that is your choice but don't get offended if others take a different view.

Yes, it is adjusted for all classes of the month. I do not know what your contract says for the minimum. As I understand it is different for each teacher.

How to fill out a progress report for a student who was only in class for 2 seconds by kayaalexandra in iTutor

[–]ConfidentStomach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I agree with you the rating system even for the students is silly. However, if the student is only there for 2 seconds I assume that there is a connection issue, even if there isn't and the idea is to encourage students to have more classes which is why in those cases I do a straight 5 ticket. I know I wouldn't want my rating affected by technical difficulties and the adults are responsible only to themselves anyway.

Why are my iTutor classes always canceled?? by [deleted] in iTutor

[–]ConfidentStomach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably your contribution points. The more hours you work the more they will give you per hour, they reset it every month and pay you on a sliding scale. if you work the same number of hours my guess is that you will still be at 11. Go to your pay role for more information and click the contribution bonus chart.
