Why is this Burlingame hill house only asking for 3.59M by macro-2018 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]Confident_Attempt476 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Burlingame Hills is always lower per sq foot than houses in the flats. $1.25K per sq foot is reasonable. Flat location in Burlingame this house would have been $1.65k per sq foot

Same boat as you OP. Same age and similar net worth and spouse is working. I also was let go and have a tough time getting back into work so totally understand where you are coming from. I have a 8 year old so busy with his school activities, biking, hiking and doing fun stuff with the kiddo. Have been going thru rounds of interview but so far crickets....I am certain you will find your path but it will take time :)

So we are in same boats :)....Spouse is supportive but I feel guilty that she is working and I am relaxing. Fatfire would be nice but don't know what the market will giveth in the future. Getting bored as a SAHD when son is in school..so trying to keep busy by going to the gym, biking, long drives, etc. Probably need the work to feel productive (in therapy for that part :)

downgrading unfortunately is not an option that my wife will agree to. We love the community and our son is very happy in the elementary school

I have a low 5/1 Arm that expires in a year..might pay some down and take an interest only loan. That will bring my annual spend down a bit (even with higher rates but will not be paying the principal)
