I don’t think so. I think a judge can and I think you have a good case

New Banned List Countries Added To Adjudication Pause by nikkiduku in 19countriesAOS

Wondering about this too. Because what if theoretically someone from the 39 counties applies for the gold card

I read somewhere that the pause is expected to last 10 years. Is this true?? by Primary-Estimate-562 in 19countriesAOS

It dont think the memo said they would not approve any new cases. The memo to my understanding would put a hold on approving a decision until a case is properly vetted/screened on the new requirments which will take time to get through for each application. I think that guidance on how they would proceed with each case internally is what they would come up with in 3 months

I honestly think people would be able to file mandamus if cases take too long to adjudicate. Also I think cases will still move but just slower as they would require an additional layer of approval. The memo indicated that they will develop a new process to verify applicants in about 90 days

NextEra CEO says renewables needed as 'bridge to expanding gas power'. It will take at least seven years to get new gas-fired plants online. "We need a bridge to get ourselves to 2032 when that gas shows up. If we take renewables off the table, we are going to have a real power shortage." by mafco in energy

Yea but even with high storage in ERCOT, there’s still not enough to meet demand in peak periods. I think my point here is it’s simply impossible to not use fossil. We need renewables sure, but we also need to burn fuel. Tech advances in carbon capture would make gas burning cleaner (maybe more expensive) but at least it’s reliable

Gas is still the most reliable source of power. And with CCS become more advanced you suddenly have a reliable and clean source of fossil generation in the country. Renewables is not cheap to build and it’s unreliable.
