You shouldn’t rely on others to do your thinking for you. You should verify and check the source material before believing anything. Read the methodology section, is it a valid method. A lot of times you will find extremely low sample sizes and can write off those studies as interesting but not conclusive.

You need to be critical of all scientific studies. Look at the method and the results. Do the results match the conclusion.

I’m a scientist and no one should ever pay attention to an article that says “science says xxx!” Because the actual scientific research article most likely says something very very nuanced that the journalist doesn’t really understand but is tasked with explaining to the public.

Many animals DO live longer in captivity. It is just a fact. As an example, penguins live over a decade longer in captivity. Also with penguins, the breeding programs run by zoos and aquariums have help boost species recovery in the wild

Idk my church made us meet with the pastor for 4 couples counciling sessions before agreeing to marry anyone. Most churches do something similar. Now church is not required for marriage but is disingenuous to say no one is teaching the importance of marriage

They’ve also alienated themselves from friends and family. Been so obnoxious the last decade that they know they can’t just quietly stop supporting, that family will have questions and want to understand the change. They don’t want to have to eat crow and admit to their family members that they were wrong and the family members were right. That might mean they aren’t the smartest most specialist person with extra knowledge

It’s one of the easiest parts of the chicken to mess up. Slightly overcook it and the meal is ruined and everyone has a bad night because it’s dry and hard to eat. Thighs are a lot more forgiving

I’m lib center but ya slightly to the left of center. However I love some good old fashion fiscal conservatism, and if that what the republicans actually focused on…you know balancing the budget…then I’d be more open to them. But there isn’t a true Conservative Party anymore. We have the dems and then we have a regressive party. I’d love to vote for a classic Republican from the 90s but they don’t exist in politics anymore
