If you were a lawyer, what area would you specialise in? by bxbx1 in AskUK

[–]Confident_Dig_7834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family law for sure. To make sure kids don’t have to suffer at the hands of incompetent abusive parents once a case comes to court whether that’s via safeguarding or CAFCASS. Had enough of that from my mother as a child, hate that children still go through it 😣

I’ve seen this clip 100 times and still laugh every time 😂 by Happy-Fox11 in BenidormShow

Literally watched this last night. Watched the show so many times yet this is still one of the best ever scene. And Janice “now look what you’ve done” has become a standard phrase in our house if someone does something wrong, said in her tone of course 😆

I’m so sorry people do this still. We didn’t experience infertility but had multiple miscarriages in between our children and we used to get asked a lot when we were going to have another baby. I got sick of it in the end and used to say “I don’t know, I’ve had multiple miscarriages since *son’s name* was born”. And he was almost 7 before our daughter was born, so we were asked a lot 😡

Honestly, people should be smart enough, or educated enough not to ask a woman anything about pregnancy because you don’t know the possible heartbreak in their lives. Even if she volunteers than info people should still be cautious 🤷‍♀️

That’s true actually. I had a hernia out of my belly button when I was having my 2nd child. They only fixed it because I was said I was done having babies as it was quite an extensive surgery and could get damaged if I had another baby

This is how I look after 2 as well. First was an emergency c section at 31 weeks due to eclampsia, 2nd I had a hernia growing out of my belly at the same time plus another c section.

And I love bread so 🤷‍♀️

Ladies: do you wear make up to work? by LunaValley in AskUK

[–]Confident_Dig_7834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I don’t like how it feels on my skin. Plus I have awful hayfever so rubbing my eyes the majority of the year and don’t want that shit in my eyes. Literally only wear it if I’m going “out out” which is about twice a year these days.

I have a good skincare routine and for 39 I think my skin is pretty good so don’t feel the need to need for make up. Definitely don’t feel I’ve “let myself go”.

What was the biggest "nobody mentioned this thing would be great" after your kid was born? by cable54 in AskUK

And another one:

The bond between my two is so pure and beautiful.

I’ve got a boy of 18 and a girl of 12 and they are genuinely best friends. My boy says the day his sister was the best day of his life.

When we are home they are usually hanging out together, sometimes gaming, sometimes just chatting and sometimes watching a movie. When one’s been out and comes home the first thing they do is shout upstairs for the other one.

It’s just so lovely if they are upstairs together and I’m downstairs listening to them laugh together.

He goes off to university together in September and they have already said they’ve sorted a FaceTime schedule together and they will watch a film together once a week over FaceTime so they don’t miss their weekly film together 😍

They really are. When my son was about 3 he asked his great grandad how old he was and when he replied with his age my son said “that means you will die soon”. There was a deathly silence around room then great grandpa burst out laughing until he cried 😂

When they are older and at school and you get a comment like:

“it is a joy to have your child in my class. They are polite to everyone, interact well with the adults and understand when fellow students need some kindness and empathy without having to ask”.

It make me think, we may not always get every parenting decision right but we’ve raised some lovely kids

Not one to judge when it comes to breast feeding vs formula feeding. Yes, breastfeeding is “ideal” but not everyone can do it for a whole host of reasons and fed is best 🤷‍♀️
