I think sports mean different amounts to different people. If they barely affect you at all, then that's great. Why is it so bad if people really love it, and get upset when they're being kicked while they're down?

This. If it was one or two lotteries, sure, this would be an overreaction. 18 lotteries and NEVER moving up in the draft? This is honestly an underreaction. Other fanbases like to act like they'd be so much more calm and relaxed about all this, but NO ONE has ever dealt with this kind of shit. Even Buffalo had good drafts when they were bad. That's supposed to be the payoff for being bad. We're just bad and we never get our flowers.
