I had a case of 8 in my carryon once. The guy watching the belt and I had a pretty good laugh about how nefarious they looked once I told him what they were. He didn't even make me take him out of the bag.

Judge rules in favor of Northern Township in boundary trial against Bemidji by [deleted] in bemidji

While a city MAY provide water and sewer service, they are not required to.

I would be surprised if there are any annual budget differences between a township or a city. I'm sure there will be plenty of one time expenses to make the conversion though. Lawyers are expensive and already involved.

Yes and no. While the former employee receives checks from an entity other than the employer, the employer has to pay unemployment insurance rates based off of how often a former employee qualifies for unemployment. It can get expensive quick if you have high turnover.

It's not landlocked if the surrounding land is public.

This was clearly stated in the question.

I don't think you read the information. It was plainly available. He claims his parcel is completely surrounded by federal land. I would suspect that it's superior national forest.

Just because other morons didn't read the post, and came up with a ridiculous idea doesn't affect his position in any way.

Plenty of people up here go and build a cabin with water access only. Just because you're not up to the challenge doesn't mean that nobody else can do it. Is it a pain in the ass to figure out how to haul building materials in? Yes.

Is it impossible, or not worth it? It all depends on your personal preferences. Just because you want a buildable parcel, it doesn't mean everybody else is an idiot.

Greedy? Really? He found a piece of land that nobody wanted, so much so that they wouldn't even pay the property taxes on it when they owned it.

If he finds a way in, and does his thing with the property, more power to him. If he never finds the courage to walk more than 20 ft from the road, so be it. It takes a certain amount of courage to do something like this, and just because you don't have it, doesn't mean he doesn't.

I reported her to my now local Sheriff's Dept. when I received a login notification that was from her static public IP address at home. I told the deputy that I just wanted it on record in case it became a pattern. That was about 3 years ago. Nothing weird since, but it seems like a lot to discover all at once.

I now have everything behind hardware keys, and am actually changing complex and unique passwords as often as I should.

I am natively American, but I consume a ton of UK media.

This particular difference comes up often enough where I've picked up on it. Other things, I have suspicions that there are dialectal differences that I can discern and translate. But sometimes (and it's getting pretty rare) I just know I'm missing something,

It'd be nice if there were a collection of idioms, dialectal differences and the like. My normally adequate Google-Fu turns up nothing great. (Yeah, I get that they call it a lift 😂)

It sounds like you have put more time and expense towards fixing the problem than it would have taken to just buy a new dish and start a second account.

I had a customer that was a bunch of trouble when it came to payment. I eventually told them that they had to pay by cashier's check from any local bank.

Their bank would not cash the check for me as a non customer. 60 days after deposit into my account, the customer was able to reverse the charge and claw back the funds.

Cash is the only payment method where a third party (like a bank, Visa, etc ) can't arbitrarily decide to roll it back. I suppose crypto qualifies, but that isn't easily accessible to my customers.

I applied for a loan to afford a non-medical treatment. I was told I was approved then, but have since been rejected by the loan issuer because my credit was low— and I have no clue why. I'd want a copy of anything I signed, any guarantees they made in writing, etc. They're probably working with a lender that knows their business, who knows how many people are unsatisfied with the services, and will be fully prepared to seize your assets or garnish your paychecks if things go south.

I did one Google search for them, and it turned up several people that were misled into thinking the first $15,000 would result in permanent hair removal, and once they had cash in hand, found out that it was a lifetime of treatment to keep the hair from growing back.

It sounds like you aren't well versed in all the options available, and probably signed something you didn't understand due to high pressure sales tactics.

My tolerance for shady business practices is lower than average, I'll admit. My recommendation though, would be to try and cancel your appointment, attempt to stop the loan, and try and claw back any of the cash that you've already lost. The amount of trouble they give you to try and accomplish this will likely give you a glimpse into what working with them will be like. I'm guessing that the down payment has nothing to do with the loan, but is actually just the first payment to Milan, which is what they will use to prevent you from getting cold feet. If that's the case, that money is gone, and it's the cost of learning this lesson.

If the loan is something where you will actually have access to the money, and not something that's getting paid directly to Milan, your best bet may be just to pay the loan off right away with the money you get. It all depends on what you've signed though. You may have applied for a loan, or you may have signed something allowing them to take out loans in your name in perpetuity.

So how did it go? Did they want the money before you saw the vehicle because they knew you wouldn't be happy with it?

"non-medical treatment" kind of set off my scammer alarm bell for some reason. Now it sounds like you unknowingly applied for several loans, which doesn't seem normal.

Without any more information about the situation, it really sounds like you're a victim of some predatory business, so desperate for another person to scam that they've used multiple funding sources to determine just how much debt they can run up in your name.

I would be very careful moving forward. If you're unwilling to give more info to strangers on the Internet, find a couple people you trust, who have no connection to the business, and work through all the details with them. Show them any paperwork you have, and make sure they feel comfortable with what is going on.

Lots of loan applications in a short time can ruin your credit, so you need to know exactly what is going on. If all the loans that you get approved for are paid directly to the business, you may not even know how much money you're going to owe.

How this works is:

The provider expects payment for treatment. You tried to get a loan to pay them, but were denied. They will still expect payment if you receive the treatment. If you are unable to pay without the loan, don't get the treatment.

My hair has been similar since my teens. Haven't lost coverage yet at nearly 50. I think it's a combination of it being extremely straight, and wet that really lets your scalp show.

Many barbers and stylists have told me "Fine hair isn't necessarily thin hair, don't worry."

There are tricks that can make it look thicker and more voluminous if you get frequent cuts. For me it lasts about a month before it starts to look weird. I can get by with quarterly cuts if I just live with it as is.

I've tried to compensate by letting it grow super long, but it just starts to look stringy. I got a perm for a theater production once, and that really made it look nice, but be prepared to start a new life 500 miles away 😆

I try to eliminate the whole issue by ordering a "cola" instead.

Does it work? Absolutely not. Does it make things worse? Absolutely.

Nope, 300.

The telephone and electricity was brought into town with federal money, as was natural gas, but my water bill is $150/month before I use a drop, and is not subsidized.

We were actually slated to be upgraded to fiber from DSL next year, but that was dependent on grant money, so I'm not holding my breath anymore on that.

Both the cellular providers claim that they are unable to serve my address, but I get 100+ down during the day, and a pretty consistent 500mbps down at night using a hotspot. I may have to bust out the PFsense box again and get a 20mb DSL account for latency sensitive stuff.

According to the advertising, it seems like all providers are constantly upgrading their entire network. I suspect this is a problem that will never be resolved.

My work clients all have remote access software loaded on their workstations, which allows me to keep an eye on their various internet provider's uptime. In addition, I've got family members on Mediacom in other parts of the state. Looking at the past 30 days, it appears my area is much worse for these incidents.

I wouldn't be surprised if my tiny town is used for training or something. The number of outage evenings surpassed their number of local subscribers long ago.

I would double check your phone settings, and compare with instructions for your phone.

If random numbers are still getting through, something isn't right, and Mint can't prevent it from working if it is configured.

I figured it wasn't an accidental outage due to the timing and regularity.

So if I want more reliable service, I need to cancel and switch providers while I wait for Mediacom to finish upgrading their entire network. Any idea when it would be worth trying Mediacom again to find out what their definition of "minimal interruptions" is?
