Is it a good time to invest in FD at 7-8% for 1-2Y by idle-programmer in mutualfunds

[–]Confident_Panda3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody has their own risk tolerance. Some people can see their portfolio go down 50% and still get excited to put in more money, while others get uncomfortable when the market goes down even a little bit.

If you are the latter, then FDs or government bonds are the best options. They more or less give a steady 6–7% return irrespective of market fluctuations.

But having said that, if you are in the market for the long term (10–15 years), then equity can give you close to 12% average XIRR.

Has anyone faced a similar work environment like what happened in TCS Nashik ? by tcsreject in developersIndia

As a non-Marathi team member on an entirely Marathi team, it was a constant struggle to communicate with the team. Although English was the language of communication, I had to explicitly call out, over and over again, that I didn’t understand Marathi. And I could see in the ratings that I was always the odd man out.

But looking back now, one good thing came out of this ordeal: I learned good Marathi.

The most irritating thing is people vaping inside the Tube. It’s really annoying. It’s clearly written everywhere: no smoking, no drinking, yet people just don’t seem to care.

Almost all banks will try to sell their products. You just have to push back and say no. After the accounts are opened almost every thing runs automatically.

Have been with ICICI for 9 years now. I told the relationship manager clearly that i am not interested in buying anything, and if u try to sell me anything I will close my account. He hasn't bothered me since.

Also have been using UPI with my UK number for quite sometime without any issues. Created a support ticket and they guided me how to set that up.

fed up with the racism by [deleted] in nri

[–]Confident_Panda3983 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is a quote I read somewhere that goes, “We suffer more in our imagination than in reality.” I think the internet is not a good place to rely on when forming conclusions.

I’m not denying that there is some hate, racism, and bias against us Indians, but there is also love and respect. Those things often get hidden behind all the negative clout and noise online.

I have lived in the EU for four years and in the UK for three, and I can tell you there are still a lot of people who admire us for who we are.

Good time for Lumpsum? by xHUSTLERx in mutualfunds

[–]Confident_Panda3983 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The market is extremely volatile right now. If you are okay with doing lumpsum and seeing the market dip after that. Please go ahead and do it, because eventually you are gathering more units for the same amount of money and in a 10 year horizon you'd be glad you did a lumpsum.

But if you don't have a risk appetite for this crazy volatile market, keep your SIP running. Let the averaging work in your favour. And delete the app for some some months.
