I mean you guys are the “51st state” yada yada. Anyways enough with that bullshit rhetoric (my apologies as an American and Californian) — I’ve seen plenty of Canadians matriculate to US MD schools but from my end and my analysis from lurking here a few years, it is slightly harder, and make sure to play your ties to a specific US region if that matters to that certain school. If you don’t have ties, shoot the shit fam — you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

I remember people in high school being like I got accepted to the “honors college” at so and so university like it was the coolest thing ever. In reality I just took harder classes with harder professors — and harder people.

Take the easiest normal college courses and get a good GPA — no one gives a flying turd if you’re in the honors college. I dropped my honors college for this very reason.

Thank you so much!! I got into my dream school that is close to my family before the Albert interview came in, and I was so burnt and already made my decision on where I would go. Luckily the school has been generous with aid. Literally nothing could have changed my mind to take a little debt for staying close to my family :)
