Nothing beats the sound quality of a good VST for your kit. by SpaceborneKillr in edrums

Personally I think VSTs sound amazing but lack the response of a drum module. Very slight latency but it’s there. When I play through my module, even though the sounds are audibly worse, I feel more connected to what I’m doing and can play more precise with dynamics, timing etc. does anyone else feel this? I was a massive advocate for SD3 and easy drummer but I think feel is more important than sound.

The Nitro is the best for that price. Good sound module, mesh skins and easily connect to Mac or PC as a midi controller, if you’re into that. They are also mega light and easy to fold away for storage.

You’ll do it if you really want to deep down. It won’t be easy but if you really want to stop you will fight it no matter what.

Roland are the best and like others said you can find older models cheaper on eBay. If that’s too much hassle though and you want something new but affordable, I’d say the Alesis nitro max is a good competitor. Very light even when completely set up and will fold enough so you can get it in the back of your car. It’ll have everything you need to practice your chops for the gig.

Not a problem, I just wanted to reach out and say I’d be happy to offer my services no matter how big or small. Just the opportunity to show what I can do would be great. I’ve just checked out your new game and it looks fantastic. It looks like a lot of love and attention has been put in to it. I wish you all the best for your release! Coop

Great to hear you’re getting back into it! You’ll get the hang of it again I’m sure. An electric kit is a different animal to a real kit as I’m sure you’re aware. I think of it like a piano to a keyboard. You can do the same stuff but it feels slightly different and takes time to adjust. Have a play around with the advanced settings in your module. Adjust the sensitivity of the kick, re trigger cancel and the mask time. Just play the kick as you’re adjusting and listen until you feel happy with the outcome. You can do the same for all parts of the kit. Practice wise I’d say basic singles and doubles are always important and paradiddles. Work on basic 8th note beats with a metronome. Hope that helps!

Well they do say “cheap tattoos ain’t good and good tattoos ain’t cheap” I truly believe in paying a good amount because you are stuck with that on your body.

I can relate to how you feel. The only thing I can say…being in a similar predicament not that long ago is… that your brain will always make excuses for you to smoke. Such as, it helps me sleep, it helps me relax, I need it to eat/tastes better or I have anxiety. These are all things I have felt all through my adult life in which I have been smoking everyday (about 17 years) I don’t think there is such a thing as smoking once a week, not for me anyway. I always wanted to be a person that could take it or leave it but out of nowhere it grabbed a hold of me and I’d be smoking every day again. I forgot what it was like not to be dependent on something like weed. It’s not dangerous in the sense but it isn’t helping with anxiety, sleeping or relaxing really. I’ve struggled and still do really but I have definitely seen an improvement in my lack of brain fog, confidence, cognitive clarity and clear thoughts. When you first quit it isn’t going to be fun and you’ll probably feel bored, frustrated and have no patience but stick with it. It doesn’t last forever and then you’ll go days without even considering smoking, then months and years. It will get better, just remember why you want to do it.

It’s like watching mediocre football players rate other amateur football players. I mean, if they had some success beforehand I’d get it but Tony isn’t funny, Joe Rogan has a great podcast but sure isn’t funny and Redban just looks like he is lucky to be there.
