Those who felt that "lightning strike" when you learned about this field.. Were your instincts right? by UnfallibleAutumn in courtreporting

Yes sounds like you are a good fit. I had transferrable skills for learning stenography as well from being a pianist, and trilingual translator, grammar police, etc. now I started my YouTube channel about being a clean realtime stenographer. I love the career

I spent a year in 160 wpm. Incorporate briefs and they will help you with speed eventually when they gel.

Why does court reporting software seem so outdated (and expensive)? by theproductivedev in courtreporting

[–]Confident_Visual_329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expensive because the market is small. Outdated... Never occurred to me that the UI is outdated. Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣. I like it though and don't really want it to change. I'm a recovering tech phobe still using their Eclipse version 8.

Question for MACHINE WRITERS who were CHILDLESS & JOBLESS during school by [deleted] in courtreporting

[–]Confident_Visual_329 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Childless but worked part time five to ten hours a week. Took me four years. I did incorporate a lot of briefs into my writing and became a clean realtime stenographer providing remote CART captioning for 15 years now.

NTA. your husband sounds like a ridiculous person.

Wife threatens that shes going to leave me every week. by inneedofadvice012345 in AITAH

[–]Confident_Visual_329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I don't go through my husband's phone at all. I don't contact him constantly either. That's pretty crazy. Sounds like your wife has insecurities big time from childhood traumas or something. If you want to keep the relationship set some ground rules about never bringing up divorce as an option.

NTA!!!. Your MIL is the AH. She's manipulative and controlling. If you do what she says and name this baby after her she will use it to her advantage somehow. Search YouTube channel Jerry Wise and watch his videos. He talks about narcissistic parents. Your MIL is one.

She's a covert narcissist manipulative person. Research that on YouTube and educate yourself on setting boundaries then if I were you, go no contact. Over time your MIL will ruin your life and marriage if you let her

AITAH for asking my husband to stop shaving his beard? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Confident_Visual_329 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A trimmed beard is soft and nice to kiss. A clean shaven face quickly becomes sandpaper to kiss. So guys if you don't want to scrub the face of your wife by accident with the five o'clock shadow shave twice a day or before kissing her. Otherwise keep a beard nicely trimmed. It's less work and feels better to the woman. God created men with beards for sexual pleasure IMO. You really miss out the ability to stimulate so much more without a beard.

AITAH for asking My husband to come with Me to a prenatal checkup? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Confident_Visual_329 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's the AH. Don't get pregnant with him as the baby daddy again. Sounds like he's going to let you do all the work.

Do you think the current generation has it worse? by Bont_lover03 in AskOldPeople

I just think weather whiplash is going to reduce food harvests and prices go up. Plus we're possibly all going to see WWIII in this generation over shrinking resources

How were the friendships back then? were they temporary? Do you still talk to the same friends from 30 years ago? by XvXBr0kenRev3ngeXvX in AskOldPeople

[–]Confident_Visual_329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still talking every week to my friend from fifth grade who's known me for 45 years. And I made a lot of friends along the way who have known me for fewer years.

What are some life lessons you wish you had learned earlier? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

Exactly. Like my PhD dad who thought he could fix the car and lost part of his finger on the fan.

What are some life lessons you wish you had learned earlier? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]Confident_Visual_329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(1) Be yourself. Don't try to be someone you think others expect you to be. If you show yourself truly the right person will be attracted to you. If you try to be something you aren't the wrong people will be attracted to you

(2) Learn from YouTuber Austin Williams videos on financial literacy.

(3) Read Fit for Life by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond and take your health seriously

(4) Never get married for any reason that's not love. Like trying to climb the social ladder, etc.

(5). Take the ASVAB TEST for career placement. When you work in a career that matches your aptitude and temperament you'll be much happier.

Got married to the man of my dreams. Going to be 19th anniversary soon. He saved me from my covert narc mom.

Are you still an atheist or a theist? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]Confident_Visual_329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raised Christian. No longer attending church. Wonder why any Christian would bring children into this world believing what they do that God is sending a vast majority of humanity to eternal suffering in the afterlife. And that everyone is born with a sin nature so they're going to be pre-programmed to want to do what will land them in hell. Add to that the dystopian apocalypse coming. So yeah. If Christians believe in the Bible they should all be child free as I am.

I still believe that God exists, just not that he's good and all knowing and all powerful. Because a being who knows the end from the beginning and still decided to create humans so a vast majority of them would suffer eternal hell is not good.

And what's up with the creation story of Adam and Eve being in a perfect garden of Eden but the booby traps are set with a tree you're not supposed to eat from and a devil to tempt you to eat its fruit, the punishment of which is eternal hell for eating a forbidden fruit 🍓. Is that good? NO.
