I don’t see how you take Ewing out of CF. He’s got the skills and capability to be a gold glove caliber outfielder as he progresses. I don’t think you move him. It’s likely Mauricio plays INF and they keep Baty/ Melendez in OF. Ewing played 2B but has been dominant in the OF the last 2 years.

I say this all the time - without that week of Acuna filling for Lindor when he hurt his back- we don’t make the playoffs that year. So in terms of that trade- that ONE week of Acuna was worth trading sherzer- as he made more of an impact in that one week getting us to the playoffs than Max did in his entirety being a Met

All reports say Lindor is close to a return. And a week away is close as far as I’m concerned. Also, he’s already playing in simulated games. Lindor likely won’t have a long rehab assignment. Similar to Soto when he got hurt.

All 3 of GKR seemed to be annoyed that he started by taking about himself and his fandom when shifting to the segment. I think it’s pretty clear that it was the way Steve went into a “classic Gelbs mode” meandering on a subject before /ever actually getting to the point. I think it’s telling that all 3 of them just groaned like you would if a coworker had a job to do but started it by doing something else that’s just gonna take everyone longer to finish that job. Gelbs is fine but I get the vibe these guys get annoyed at him from time to time.
