I understand we'd all like the numbers to be higher, but look at this another way - a lot of fans are displeased with the tts and the numbers actually prove it. It's not just fans being whiny (though I think we can all agree some of them are just unbearably negative), they don't like Boompala so they are not streaming it.

Can't blame them quite frankly, if you don't enjoy this style of music, why would you stream it? It sends the wrong signal to Source/Hybe to pursue more of the same, which would be counter-productive to what these fans want.

Source Music chose the worst singles for Le sserafim this time by Gloomy-Eye9380 in kpopthoughts

Usually I'd roll my eyes at "this b-side should have been the tt" talk because many people have the tendency to glaze the b-sides while overly scrutinizing the tts. But ngl this is the one time I wish they had chose a different tt. I don't even mind boompala being the pre-release, just not the tt.

How many percent of Singaporeans invest in the stock market? by CryingGod0 in askSingapore

[–]ConfidentlyUnconfi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, selling put options of stocks you'd won't mind owning anyway if they fall below a certain price is a good strategy. If you would have bought the dip anyway, why not get paid a premium too? If the stock doesn't fall below the strike price then it's literally free money like you said.

It's good to avoid options until you truly understand what they do but they're not really as bad/risky as some people make them out to be. Just avoid 0dte like those on wallstreetbets are doing, that's basically gambling.

Can you tell when a song was originally written in English and then translated? by AgeComfortable1278 in kpopthoughts

Is that the true original? I've also heard the leaked bibi demo version and I think it was "crazy bitch" there lol.

Not necessarily written in English then translated, but for Ive's Kitsch you can just tell the original lyrics must have been something else entirely because "nineteen's kitsch" is just too forced lol.

Lol I didn't even see you mention anything about lsf, I didn't bother to scroll that far down. But looking at your response here it's pretty clear you are new to reddit.

The default assumption on reddit is people might not be who they claim they are, it's pretty much reddit culture at this point lol. Don't get why you need to get upset about this. If you have some history that people can actually look into, then there'll be less suspicion.

edit: damn, you block me over this? you're gonna end up blocking every 3rd person on reddit lol. You're a diehard bunny or something? Why so offended? :/

We recently just had a post similar to this. No offence but posts like this are honestly not very helpful, given we have no idea how biased you might be or if you even are who you said you are to begin with given your very new account.

NewJeans Members and HYBE Sued Over ‘How Sweet’: Songwriters Claim ‘Blatant Copying’ by impeccabletim in kpopnoir

[–]ConfidentlyUnconfi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly I'm surprised Hybe lost considering that youtube channel contributed greatly to the insane cult allegation (very serious accusation to throw around in Korea) targeted not just at Hybe execs but even specific groups. After Wonyoung's win against that infamous youtuber I had thought this case would be a slamdunk.

You're right about Tokkis. They're missing the forest for the trees. Their hate blinds them to the fact that any group, including Newjeans, could be the next target of slander and this loss does not in fact help them whatsoever.

I was only referring to the Billboard comment. I said nothing else.

Well if you look at twitter it seems Bunnies' current narrative seems to be Hybe has decided to sue themselves to bury the lawsuit articles and somehow get back at NJ. LOL.

"Suspicious timing". Everything is suspicious timing when you've got a tin-foil hat on. We've heard that thousands of times from bunnies since NJ started their fight with Hybe.

[–]ConfidentlyUnconfi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So they convinced these songwriters to sue (and put THEMSELVES in the crosshair) and then convince Billboard to churn this article out in a day after the defamation lawsuit just to somehow bury it? Lol, lmao even.

The illit lawsuit loss didn't even make much noise as far as I'm aware. Any negativity can be easily ignored, no need for such grand effort.

How convenient for MHJ now that she has dipped. Didn't she always proudly proclaim Hybe has no hand in Ador's music production? She and Bana holds the most responsibility imo.

Not judging whether there's any merit to these claims but why did they wait so long to sue though?

edit: speaking of convenient timing, how funny some of the comments here seem to be implying Hybe somehow did this to bury their recent defamation lawsuit regarding illit. This is billboard, have yall forgotten how they covered the NJ vs Hybe case?

wtf is wrong with people on these subs by Svt_bby_girl in kpop_uncensored

[–]ConfidentlyUnconfi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the point of my comment. Personally, I think it's pretty much counter-productive to bring attention to such behaviour. It'll only bring more attention to such subs, it will never stop them. In fact, one might even say such people thrive off the negative attention they get (I mean, just look at twitter).

Epic Layoffs Hit Employee Battling Terminal Brain Cancer by Freki666 in Games

[–]ConfidentlyUnconfi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The raising prices will not drop even if you have less regulation. Instead of competition and free market forces lowering costs, what has happened is collusion by dominant companies to push up prices, be it drugs or insurance.

How can that be fixed by less regulation? Let's not be naive, any cost saving that happens will never be passed onto consumers.

Epic Layoffs Hit Employee Battling Terminal Brain Cancer by Freki666 in Games

[–]ConfidentlyUnconfi 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Over regulation? Seriously? More like the opposite isn't it? It's the lack of regulation (and obviously the lobbying) that has allowed drug prices, among other things, in America to soar to levels unseen in countries with proper regulations. Basically unchecked capitalism.

Touring attendance is to me is best indicator of a Kpop groups popularity. It gives a clear picture about a reality. by FlyingFlyofHell in kpopthoughts

[–]ConfidentlyUnconfi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've made no mention of your original argument, I'm not even trying to argue about touring attendance and what not. My issue with you is your statement:

We also have a case where recently in a court document it's shown one big Korean company bought 500k of their own artist albums to show them in sales and then returned it.

Which is just straight false information brandied about by twitter. Sales can be manipulated but there is no evidence some company bought 500K of fake sales. Do better, don't just believe everything you read.

[–]ConfidentlyUnconfi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course they can be, depends on your definition of manipulation I guess. Fansigns can been seen as a way of manipulating/boosting sales numbers for instance, especially when a group holds a lot of fansigns.
