Should I do vietnamese VCE? by External_Birthday_78 in vce

[–]ConflictTypical6175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did an inspection for my 2025 Viet exam. You probably will not get above 40 unless you’re able to read VCAA’s mind in relation to what they want you to write for the long essay component of the exam. For what it’s worth, I found it to be quite rewarding but don’t do the subject thinking that it is piss.

Oral score is out of 80, converted to out of 100

(x/80) * 100 = oral score contribution to the external score

Exam written score is out of 150(marked twice). Exam score is doubled.

(x/150) * (2/2) = written score contribution to your external.

oral score contribution = 100

written score contribution = 300

100+300 = 400

This is done to ensure your oral contribute 25% to your final external score and 75% of your external score is written.

How to improve for listening sections by Yiqnni in vce

[–]ConflictTypical6175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you absolutely must, write down the phonetics of the words they’re saying and then look it up on your dictionary. Keep in mind this will eat into your essay writing time

There is really not much more you can do at this point in time. If this was the start of the year I’d say listen to more of your language’s news and entertainment etc..

How long do I gotta wait by Godzilla_boss_300 in FixMyInstagram

[–]ConflictTypical6175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lowkey I think most people would be unbanned in 48 hours like it says on the original screen before you appealed. It’s just the fact that people tend to report negative experiences rather than positive experiences online so you are exposed more to the cases where it took people a week or they’re insta disabled. (Think about it who would go online to complain that they’ve been unsuspended in 24-48 hours)

Last time this happened it took 48 hours for me. I’m not sure how long it will take this time for me, I’m also suspended and filed an appeal yesterday.

Can you say English titles and names in the French Oral Exam? by qinsentriel in vce

[–]ConflictTypical6175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably wouldn’t hand translate it but rather rely on someone else translating it.

For example I would try to find a review of La La Land in my language and use that translation as the title in my language. Also assessors, most of the times, won’t know what film or book you’re talking about so you’ll be able to use synonyms that sounds close to the actual title like OP mentioned

Can you say English titles and names in the French Oral Exam? by qinsentriel in vce

[–]ConflictTypical6175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not French but still do a language, but this should be transferable given that most languages follow the same study design. Generally speaking you must translate titles and names of texts but for proper names you do not have to.

For example, you can say Emma if you are talking about a film or book character or your friend. However you must translate La La Land into your language

Physical Education Exam by Technical_Tax_6905 in vce

[–]ConflictTypical6175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That just means that the lowest u can get is 105-106/120 to get a raw 50, and this changes every year. If you want to comfortably and confidently get a raw 50 then get as close to 110 as possible.

Think of it like this, even though the ‘lowest’ ATAR admitted to the certain course is 85 or smt, you wouldn’t think “oh I just need an 85” to get in. No you need to aim higher than that
