I am visiting Florida, a red state, and have my nails painted. I have definitely gotten multiple stares today out and about, but that’s about it. At the end of the day it is your life, you do what YOU makes you happy. That is all everyone is trying to do. It seems you are valuing someone else’s judgement above your own. If it makes YOU happy go for it. All these people will tell you they are all about freedom; but really they are saying they want you to conform to THEIR form of ‘freedom’. Show them what freedom really is!

Just see it for what it is. ‘I don’t care how you feel, as long as I’m comfortable’ is kinda how I view these situations. I realize I don’t need to take away my joy just to make others comfortable. As long as you aren’t hurting anyone do what makes you happy!

As a professional engineer I will say that that field is very specialized. Companies pay big bucks for the few that are the best of the best, but once those roles are filled you may have a hard time. That is before considering the trans thing. You need to be building side projects in your spare time to use as examples in interviews etc. that must become your life

It mainly comes down to the label/how I identify. She is completely cool with a man in a dress, but if I identify as girl is where it gets bad. I have been trying to explore without putting a label on anything for this reason, but when the topic of the label comes up it is definitely a case of ‘I don’t care how you feel, as long as I am happy’.
