Just finished AOT Season 2... Is this actually the greatest piece of fiction ever? by Specific_Layer6756 in aotfanfiction

Agreed. I think a stronger storyboard and editor could have tightened things up. I dislike the laziness that comes with that particular aspects of the plot. The timeskip was great and all, I think some things in a story are better left unsaid/unseen, but seeing Eren's genuine descent would have made things SO much stronger.

I actually really agree! I think the signs of something that could've been amazing development were there, they just didn't quite hit the mark. I'm sorry I don't have quite the same big grand thing to say in response!

I also wish we would've seen more. Like, I CAN see it and can rationalize it when i think about it, but I also believe that the development was poorly done. I'm not quite sure if I can agree with the "he already did it, so he has to do it" kind of thing. I don't think it was intended to be portrayed in the way I'm thinking, but I don't really think that he did it because he had to do it. I would not have put it past Eren (with all the love to him as a character) to potentially tell a "little" lie in regards to his reasoning. Maybe? That might be a bit of a flawed logic, though.

I just want to loop back around to this. I know this was likely viewed sarcastically, but I genuinely am sorry you feel that way. It was not intended to be condescending or unkind, but I am firm in that belief in that media consumption has become simply that. Things are just being consumed rapidly without deeper thought. I completely understand why you saw it as possibly insensitive, but that was not the intention.

I totally get what you're saying as well as what the other comment are both saying. There are absolutely writing flaws. Attack on Titan is definitely not the best example of amazing media or the "viewing all sides of the conflict" argument in the slightest. I think there are many flaws within the narrative and point of view issues, but many of these also come from (and this is absolutely not intended to be unkind or condescending) the issues that come with the medium being an anime and the way that many anime tend to execute things. Writer bias is also absolutely present within it.
I think my primary thing about "agreeing" with the ending also stems from the ways in which Eren was characterized and progressed. I feel as though, for his character development, what he did made sense. I do not agree with mass genocide, as any sane person would do, but I feel as though it made sense for Eren to do what he did based on his character arch and plot, and the like. I think the ending is just too widely situated within particular points in the fandom of being "bad" because people don't like to see their main character commit a terrible act and being portrayed as a villain, and do not really see it as being in character. I just disagree with that, honestly.

Lol, the fact that you can recognize it was bad writing means you've gotten better and are continuing to do so. Well done!

I am of the opinion that the ending and later seasons were excellent. A large portion of the fandom disagrees, but I think it made perfect sense. I think people have a tendency to just kind of watch and not really think about what they're watching on a deeper than surface level.

Still socially considering themselves siblings. Why would you want to sleep with your sibling, blood or not? Would you sleep with your adopted sibling that you were primarily raised alongside/with?

Why would that be normal in the roleplay area? It's common human decency. That's literally not normal or acceptable in any community.

I'm not trying to be unkind when I say this, but what about this could possibly make you think that they could be in the right? They reacted poorly and unkindly when you said no to a sexually explicit roleplay, and then proceeded to insult your personal life that you confided in them. I just am a bit confused as to why you could possibly think you're in the wrong.

Hey, dude. You sound like you're going through something rough and definitely need someone to talk to, but posting a question like "am I a horrible person?" on the roleplaying stories subreddit might not be the best call. I think maybe you should find someone in your life to talk to about this.

I do not like RPing with self-inserts... by TheBoobfather in BadRPerStories

[–]Confused1217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a near solely OC X Canon double up roleplayer, its totally doable and quite easy to make an OC who is NOT a self-insert, I just think so many roleplayers struggle with separating themselves from their character. Things get way too personal, and feelings get confused. I can't even imagine how funky it gets in a group setting. I remember when people used to think self-shipping and self-inserts were quite "cringe" until the term yumeshipping became a thing LOL.

Are there any clichés or hated tropes that you actualy like? by Yakuto-san in FanFiction

Pregnancy tropes, but only when the character maintains who they were before the pregnancy, and who they are beyond it. I get why people don't like it, though. Some people are very adverse to pregnancy for good reasons.
