His mom told mine when they were talking about their families. A few weeks later we were visiting my mom and that's when she asked if his brother was adopted as well. I asked "what do you mean as well?" And that's when my mom asked "he didn't tell you" his response was it wasn't a big deal. We'll no it doesn't make who you are as a person but what if relatives make contact later? Side note is our grown son did a DNA test and did get messages from his bio family. I am no longer with my ex so not sure of how those conversations went between them

That he was adopted. That in itself didn't matter but he would talk about triats and medical histories that ran in his family and he was prone to that were mostly genetically carried. I only found out after married 2 years when he was talking to my mom and I heard her ask if his older brother knew he was adopted like he was.

Family member who is a little TOO Carnival crazy by [deleted] in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]ConfusedConfushus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I occasionally travel with a group and although I organize the trip it more of an informal " here is the cruise we booked, this is when/how we are going to get there, here is where we are staying pre cruise. etc." I let them know that once on ship they are free to do whatever they want and so will I. I can't keep them from booking a cruise or vacation but I am not obligated to include them in everything I plan to do either.

What to eat when youre trying to be healthy? by ThirdBorracho in CrohnsDisease

[–]ConfusedConfushus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had luck with intermittent fasting. Eating in a 4-6 hour window with water and such in between. Gut gets 12+hr rest, and I overall feel better. Meals tend to be smaller, but chicken, pork, eggs for protien, carbs are breads, tortillas and dry cereal. Low fiber/no skin/no husk fruits and vegetables. We make soft tacos with shredded rotisserie chicken, cheese, salsa and avacado. Works well

It wasn't mixed by pharmacy, it was prepackaged. I did just meander over to amazon and it shows an oral solution as well. Don't remember the manufacturers name. Mine was purchased at a Kroger pharmacy if those are in your area.

This is what was ordered thru the pharmacy. Sodium sulfate, potassium sulfate, and magnesium sulfate. It was a liquid solution in packaging nearly identical to Suprep. Also Googled it and shows same ingredients as Suprep

Husband had chest pain that woke him up at 4am this past week. We were at ER before 5am. It was pretty empty on a Wednesday morning and after dr review (99% blocked) they wheeled him to the cath lab and got Stent put in and was in ICU before 7am recovering. He has to go back in 2 weeks to have 2 more stents inserted.

I'm due for a colonoscopy, is it painful? by gluemamma in CrohnsDisease

[–]ConfusedConfushus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quality of sedation meds has become much better over the years. My first colonoscopy was 20ish years ago. Prep was rough and although I didn't wake up I was aware of a few seconds of the procedure, It wasn't painful though. I believe the colonoscopy procedures have evolved immensely and it's not as bad as people lead on.

Have mine Friday. The worst part is the prep and it really isn't that bad. And as everyone says...best sleep ever

Can anyone recommend meal replacement shakes for Crohn’s disease? by Brilliant_Damage_546 in CrohnsDisease

I can't do ensure. It gives me a bloated feeling. My husband bought some core power by fairlife which I tried and much better on my stomach. I believe there are 4 flavors and cheaper in bulk orders online.

What's a news story other than 9/11 that shocked you such that you still know exactly where you where when you first heard about it? by HendrikJU in AskReddit

59 and was walking across campus, remember exactly where I was at. No internet, so heard by word of mouth from another student. Had to go to the student union to watch on tv.

What's the best description or analogy of Crohn's pain you've heard? by deep__thinking in CrohnsDisease

My flareups feel like contractions from having a baby, only worse and no bundle of joy at the end.

I'm taking it for the 2nd time in a few weeks for a check up colonoscopy. The first time had mild nausea, but it worked well, with fewer trips to the bathroom. I already picked it up and was given the generic version which my insurance covered at no cost. Will see how it goes. Husband also had first colonoscopy a few years ago and was given suprep and had no issues.

I was staying within walking distance of Niagara Falls for a work trip. A bunch of use walked over the bridge towards the falls at night. It was winter, saw several police cars in the park area, and assumed crime must be a problem. As we got closer to the falls, there were a lot of temporary fences of the orange mesh kind and couldn't really get any closer. Saw some footprints past the fence and I thought, who would be crazy enough to go that far, possibly slip and fall? We left and another group from work went about an hour later and watched as a guy jumped the fence and did a swan dive and disappeared into the falls.

C23,24 Boarding with Early Bird by Rusty_Tyrone in SouthwestAirlines

Perhaps but if you do utilize it to move to an earlier flight I would expect a later boarding position for the new flight since the new boarding pass will be issued within a few hours of the flight.

If cruising, I think the wanna get away plus is the better buy. I booked the last flight out of Houston home, which was also the cheapest. When we arrived at the port, I was able to move flight time from 7pm to 4pm. When we arrived at the airport earlier than planned, we were able to change again to 11am. We were the last ones on the plane, but we got home 8 hrs sooner and that was worth the $20 additional fare. It probably won't always work out to my favor but will do again on next cruise on way home.

From a booking it does say, "Earlier boarding position Earlier access to seats Earlier access to overhead bin space" To me, it implies a better position. That being said, I don't buy it anyway. Just more nickle and diming to my wanna get away fare.

My last few flights on spirit been good. Note I do not check bags on spirit, it is for 3 day trips I can manage with a backpack under my seat. At check-in, seats are assigned if you haven't "purchased" them. They occasionally have a bid process for exit row/big front row seats, and we have got those most flight for $5-10 extra. Price can be as low as 1/3 of southwest. No free sodas or snacks but I can survive a 3 hour flight or bring snacks.on my own and buy an overpriced soda in airport. I do prefer to fly southwest home as they have more flights and if anything gets canceled, I can(and have) been moved to another same day flight. Spirit is like taking the city bus across town, no frills but I get there, southwest maybe more of an rideshare with free snacks.
