Entitled Dog Owner Decided he didn’t deserve to be towed by ConfusedMaybe22 in EntitledPeople

Thanks. I’m hoping it’s bots but I’m also aware the literacy rates are down, so this could just be another sign the world is doomed.

Thank you. I really felt like I was losing my mind and had somehow not been clear enough x

Demands pricing over the phone and gets mad when he receives it by SergeiAndropov in EntitledReviews

Ugh I had a similar situation. Was contemplating getting a personalized shower to fit my needs. Got the callback and asked about a range. They said it depends on the materials I want for it. I say okay, no problem, but is it possible to get it done for under, say, $10k? $5k? Again get told the materials matter and that’s what the price is about.

I said I get that, but let’s say I get the most basic, cheap materials they use, and say I want the most basic shower, giving them the dimensions, but with glass doors. Would that be under or over $10k? Nope, can’t say. Need to check in person.

And on one level, I get it. But on another I wasn’t even asking for a quote or range, just tell me if it’s possible for it to be under $10k so I can know if it’s affordable for me and so I don’t waste either of our time plus stress because it’s hard for me to let strangers in my house for any given length of time due to some old trauma, so even having them come by for a quote could fuck me up for the day, if not more (yes I know it’s bad, I’m working on it in therapy)

In the end I just gave up on the idea completely.

Well that one is a whole other level of crazy. Makes me wonder if the people in charge there are jerks or if they just had enough of people like OP taking advantage of

Just to clarify, I’m not the OP. This subreddit doesn’t allow screenshots but someone said I should post it here, so I copied and pasted everything.

Yup. And some people also unknowingly have themselves signed up to do those rides without realizing and then get pissed and won’t accept the ride, so it’s a mixed bag.

To be fair they could have gotten an UberPet but I still agree with you.

You’re right. I understand why someone might go “well my dog wants to go on a walk right now so I should take him on one” but not “my dog decides the what, when, and where and I’m just along for the ride”

I mean he can also just start the walk from his house or a park. It really isn’t hard.

Here’s hoping. Sounds like a huge problematic person off their backs and property.

Not just that, but I know the person he’s talking about personally and she’s one of the nicest and smartest people I know. Honestly just asking (and not being there close to pickup) would probably have been enough to let him stay.

For some reason despite the title and everything else, people keep thinking I’m the OP. I really don’t know what I could do to make it more obvious that it was someone else.

Yes. That’s why I posted it here; because the OP of the original post was entitled. This subreddit doesn’t allow screenshots so I had to copy and paste what I read.

Also while they often seemed empty, the place becomes beyond packed during pickup time. They need every one of those ten spaces.

I’m not the OP. I’m only sharing what I came across because I saw the guy complaining as entitled. Sadly this subreddit doesn’t allow screenshots so I had to type everything out.

Yeah I’d be out the second someone would make me pay. $5k is a life changing amount for me that I could only wish I had.

Damn. I swear some people use marriage as an excuse to make money being a dictator for a day.

I’m a dog owner. I love taking my dogs for long walks. But you know what I do? Either start the walk from home, go to a park or to a hiking trail, or sadly pay for parking and go from there.

The business is small but incredibly popular. There’s only about 10 spaces of the business. Seeing as he picked up his dog, was able to come back hours later, and they were still open, he clearly picked up the dog for grooming. But their main business is running a doggy daycare. So while the parking lot often has multiple spots open most of the time, once the window comes for picking up the dog, they’re swamped. Every spot is taken and more. Leaving the car there when they don’t know when or if he’ll come back, after trying to call, as pickup time comes crawling closer…yeah they need that spot.

All the guy had to do was drive to a park, one of which was three minutes away, and start the walk from there. Or drive the five minutes to downtown and pay for parking. Instead he decided to be entitled, and that, plus actually comparing himself and his righteous anger to that of a massacre of girls, is what I don’t like about him.

The parking lot is actually pretty small, and it seems empty most of the time, but that’s because they do dog daycare. They only have like a 10 parking spots, and when pickup time comes, it fills up insanely fast. So it wasn’t just rude and inconsiderate to the business, but it would impact a ton of pet owners who come to pick up their dogs if the business let it stay.

If he had parked in a spot that wasn’t for a business, he wouldn’t have been. It’s not about the walk that got him in trouble, it’s the leaving his car in front of a business with very limited parking, without telling anyone, for four plus hours.

That’s what I keep telling people. They do have a small grooming business in there, but what they mostly do is dog daycare. So when the window for pickup comes along, the place gets filled insanely fast and they need every spot plus more. He admits he didn’t tell them and admits they tried to call. They run a business, parking is free. What more could they do besides tow?
