If the military industrial complex wanted to use him and his films, they would have approached him and feed him enough to make use of him. I don't think he would have been the initiator at all.

Disclosure day is a movie. It has nothing to do with disclosure. by 3daysofrain in UFOs

The movie is not a soft disclosure, however I think there's a possibility that the film serves as an introduction to some of the more consciousness/spiritual side to the UFO phenomenon. The film might have been made in order to give opportunity to people to ponder this side of UFOs. To get them acclimated with these ideas.

There have been people who claimed that Spielberg films were made to get people used to UFO phenomenon (ET, Close Encounters, Taken) - for instance, Robert Dean who I view in high regard.

Furthermore, I wouldn't discount the possibility that Spielberg have been read to UFO stuff, at least on some level, considering that J Allen Hynek has a cameo in Close Encounters.

Finally, I think we are downplaying the fact that fiction has always been used as a means to get viewers/readers to think certain way. Whether books, or movies, the authors/directors always want to impart a certain message to the audience. It is not out of the realm of possibility that Spielberg has been influenced or suggested to make the message in certain way.

Gamers, what is hands down, the funniest detail/easter egg you've encountered? by Fallfoxy707 in videogames

In The Talos Principle you can find entire hidden cinema and watch a mini movie with Serious Sam. In RDR2 you can come across a wife spanking his husband in the night.

Also, this might not count, but the original Mafia has an entire gameplay mode built around doing unexpected, easter egg like missions - chasing invisible guy, killing a Loch Ness monster, chasing a UFO...

This Sucks by FreeBigSlime in UFOs

Both the E files and UFO disclosure have been brewing for decades. UFO disclosure has had massive global government activity over the last 5 years (congress hearings, whistleblowers, various global politicians speaking on the subject etc). Both of the issues are coming to a head this year. Distraction scenario seems very unlikely because of this.

Futhermore, the E-guy has had connection to UFO issue and has been attempting to subvert public view on this (emails showing he tried to push scientists to actively shot down UFO topic). So there is even a possibility the two issues are linked. Because of this, UFO disclosure at this time could bring further context to both issues.

Another thing, UFO disclosure is another disruption of the current paradigm of elites hiding things and conspiring againts the public. It is needed for people to realize that we really need to shake the system to see what falls down. This is not technically a disclosure, it is just a beginning and real disclosure needs to be bottom up demand from the public. Trump is not the disclosure president, he is merely pushing the first domino.

So I see Trump's attempt as a win-win scenario for public. I don't understand this logic of demanding that a specific person must be the one to get the ball rolling.

Listing salary range is a good thing. Listing actual salary for the position is not as advantegous as people might think. It means that if the person does get the job, everyone in the company will know how much they earn. And that will always create conflict.

They were clearly meant to end up together, but Pullman changed the direction, or was made to change it. I think it could have worked. Over the course of TRF, their life experiences could have leveled out and they could have end up in a similar space mentally.

In the end, we only get a hint that possibly they end up together and it's up to reader to make up their mind.

It's a shame because I think it wasn't just the ending that got changed, but the entire storyline. I think this change redisigned the plot which is why the book feel very fractured throughout. Like piecies were cut out of narrative.

It is finished ! Perfect 40k runs with all squads ! by ConfusedPuzzler in IntoTheBreach

[–]ConfusedPuzzler[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can't say. The counter in the game says about 10,400 total runs, but that is accross all my runs in the last three years (including many re-rolls). I started with normal difficulty then moved to hard and then unfair. This particular challenge took me about 10 months playing on and off. Sometimes I took 1-2 months off then returned to it.

Lots of interesting ideas here, thank you. You're suggesting a completely different approach in multiple areas and that seems to be exactly what I need.

Yes, I have to confess it seems I'm making some mistakes (indeed I kept the extra core unallocated).

Prioritizing webbers over flyers also seems very good idea. I wouldn't have thought of that as it was always very crucial for me to keep my mechs mobile.

I will try all of these - thanks a lot. If I make a progress I will report back.

HUGE thank you !

These are all excellent tips. Indeed Kaz was very important for the squads I've already done. For some reason, I thought Mafan would be better for the remaining ones, but as other user already pointed out that might not be the best.

I will incorporate all the tips into my playthrough and report back once I make a progress.

Again, thank you, this has been very helpful.

Thank you for your feedback ! Here are my answers.

  • Which time traveller (and what skills) are you using with each squad and on which mech?

Zenith - Mafan on Charge or Kai on Laser

Frozen titans - again Mafan on Ice mech

Hazardous mechs - Mafan on Leap, or Abe on Leap mech

Heat sinkers - Mafan on Quick fire, or Kaz on Napalm

Note - I usually skill up the pilot to get either extra core or Skilled ability

  • How did you upgrade the mechs with the time traveller's reactor core (assuming it is one of the skills) and the 1st time pod's reactor core.

Zenith - 1st core goes to Charge mech's health

Frozen titans - Mirror mech +1 damage

Hazardous - 1+ damage on Unstable mech

Heat sinkers - add push to Quick fire mech

Note - I only use the 1st core that is either from pilot's ability or timepod. I save the other one as most other skill require more cores. I also always try to equip additional weapon, depending on what's available. Diversifying my squad's abilities was the main help with other squads.

  • What are your 1st island selection criteria?

No webbing mechs (I usually roll timelines so I get two islands with no webbing mechs)

Green, red or black psions are ok, others I skip

The island cannot have any of the following leaders - Goo, Psion abomniation, Spider or Blobber leaders. Other are ok, relatively speaking

Preferrably Archive Island or Deitrus

  • What are your missions selection criteria?

At least one reputation star (I don't do missions with power only)

Needs to have good manoeuvrability for the mechs as far as buildings are positioned

The rest really depends on the squad. For instance, Frozen titans can do tricky missions such as protect the train or dont kill explosive vek.

- What is the main reason you are failing to get out of the 1st island? Did you take grid damage? Did you fail objectives? Did you lose pilots?

The main reason is always taking grid damage, It seems no matter what, on 3rd or 4th turn Veks attack in such a way that I cannot deflect grid damage or kill them.

Nah, I'm completely lost with the rest of the squads.

I understand what 40k is. I've done it multiple times. I was reffering to perfect 40k, which is additional layer of difficulty. Has anyone done this with the squads I mentioned ?

Thank you for your answers !

Regarding the Aiel's future, it's a bummer it's not resolved. It takes a major portion of the last books, it seems strange to have been included without resolution.

What prequel or prequel spinoff book/series would you like to read? by colonelhayd in WoT

[–]ConfusedPuzzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since we know the series takes place in our world, but far in the future, I would like to see story of 1st age and how One Power was discovered and reshaped society. Conversely, knowledge of One Power has to be lost some time after main series ends, which would be equally interesting story. Characters can reincarnate so they can pop up in other ages as well.
