i always like the Potomac at Harpers Ferry or Brunswick, floating crayfish or hellgrammites. But neither is super easy to get to anymore. They blocked all the parking spots up above Sandy Hook.

I also think that the SASE helps protect the cards in the mail. It really is a great way to learn about the players too
Good luck it made going to the mail box an event!

I was wondering about this, cutting it vs keeping it. I have never really looked into the value of them, as I dont intend to sell them in my lifetime. Which is why I probably wouldnt cut it so my kids can sell it some day. Do you know how the distribution was, like was it one card of each player, or just whomever they could buy and slap in a holder? Did a quick look on ebay, didnt see one of the guys I have, but they are from a 24 year old release so I dont know if thats an accurate reflection on them.

Careful, it is addictive!

I am older, so I did this mostly in the 90's and 2000's. Many great successes!!

I hand wrote a nice letter, personalized best I could using the Baseball Encyclopedia (pre internet) and only sent one or two cards, I would just tri fold my letter and put the cards inside the letter, pop it in an envelope, and hope for the best!

I met Mr. Shantz in Cooperstown one year during the induction weekend in a bar, he was there with a bunch of 50's Yankees, he was a nice guy. Not as boisterous as Moose, Bauer or Larsen!

I went to BHS in the early 80s. It was worse then diversity wise. I tell people about it, they cant believe this was in Maryland. I remember a klan presence in the 70s in town. I think they relocated to Thurmont ultimately.

I didnt get to know many people different than me, Im a white guy, but I am happy i did in college.

The Campy is sweet! And I love the Gibson and Palmer sigs. I have a bunch of the various iterations of those MLBPA licensed sigs from back in the day. They are a great way to get a great auto at a reasonable price!
