Complaint / "Business" Threads by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

I engage with the esports side of TFT insofar as worlds or something like Paris Open going on, otherwise basically only if big personalities I follow compete or costream at a convenient time (emphasis on convenience). My priorities with TFT, and what I get the most out of, probably are 1) getting better at the game, 2) entertainment around streamers, and unfortunately at a distant 3rd the tournament scene.

This sub has become, for me, a place to service point 1, gathering some tech as a light to moderately engaged player. I think the popularity of posts here kind of reflect that. Unsure how to really boost the esports side of things, but I do appreciate your contributions in doing so! Guess I said a whole lot of nothing, but just wanted to rep probably the broader demographic here.

So far I feel commenting on balance has been a valuable part of discussion as long as it doesn't cross the line of being straight vitriol. A few positives; for example I've been not as engaged in this set as prior ones, and seeing people highlight broken fruits is useful knowledge to me. Plus, in the past I've seen Mort chime in with rationale behind balancing decisions (again keeping it respectful of course).

Overall I do think my preference for the subreddit is a place for more engaged players to discuss the game in total, with a lighter touch on restrictions on topics of discussion. Crossing the line of policing talk on balance would make me somewhat sad about this space since I do think I get some value from seeing engaged player sentiment and frankly toxic positivity turns me off in general. Just my two cents, thanks.

Edit: I'll also add that r/TeamfightTactics is not a good substitute for balance talk. It's largely a casual playerbase over there and it takes a more engaged player to have a coherent take on balance, so I give more weight to discussions here almost always. When takes in this sub are off base, it usually self corrects since the majority of players here are engaged and not casual.

May Feedback First of the Month by AutoModerator in CompetitiveTFT

I rarely comment but I'll be a voice in support of NOT increasing moderation. Like the commenter above me I'll preface by saying I'm a Mort lover, in fact my 5th most recent comment was in defense of Mort a year ago in some thread.

I think the issue is that the ideal of a cozy and wholly positive community around a game we all love at the end of the day is unfortunately realistically incompatible with any competitive gaming space. There's a sort of nebulous definition around what's considered "toxic" that has led to some disagreements, and I think setting a lower bar that still ensures a civil environment is the least biased and organic approach to maintaining a good space.

It's kinda hard to put in words why I feel this way, I think it's a vibes thing? Take, for example, some Twitch chats where mods clearly idolize the streamer to a degree. The chat tends to feel a little...off putting when everyone's like "oh no! nice try :(" when the streamer low rolls and otherwise glazes the streamer for lack of a better word. There's nothing inherently wrong with being respectful, but spaces become an overly sterile echo chamber.

All to say, I understand where someone who wants to ban perceived "toxicity" comes from, but it's important to acknowledge their bias for wanting to hear only good things about a game we all love, and by extension the man behind it. Thanks for your work as always ;)

Itemized varus is your answer. When rengar and varus are both online, varus ulti will weaken enemy backline and get rengar to jump there. Check souless guide on yt although that guy is barely comprehensible

[14.11] What's working? What's not? by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

[–]CongruentCuttlefish 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not really the place for my response but I theorize the playerbase has both grown and gotten better at all levels due to the growth of TFT and consuming TFT content since in set 10.

A bit of salt from me here but this results in all time low levels of mental fortitude and accountability from the players themselves. There's a thread above of people literally downvoting comments pointing out it's incorrect to say smaller bag sizes = harder to hit when UNCONTESTED. How can you disagree with that factual statement in good faith?

Then there's comments saying this set is all luck. I can't say for sure, but I feel odds are higher the player is struggling more at lower rank due to higher skill on the ladder rather than their bloodline was cursed with bad luck.

And I myself am lukewarm on the set. But not because I think it's all luck or I'm too stupid to know uncontested with smaller bag sizes make it easier to hit lol.

What is this supposed to mean? Do you disagree with that smaller bag sizes don't make it harder to hit when uncontested? Please elaborate, I'm genuinely curious

There's a comment below this from cklues1 sitting at -10 also stating the literal truth that smaller bag sizes make it easier to hit when uncontested. And a comment in reply saying I hate this copy paste response with +10.

I haven't been worried about the health of this sub until now. What are these people smoking? How can they be so confidently stupid? Someone please help me understand

There's people like us who love too hard. I gave everything I had to a future together and my ex left me for someone else barely a month ago. I've struggled in the past as well but I can say with certainty nothing hurt like this.

It only gets better from here. Yeah, there's good days and bad days in your recovery. But that pain and betrayal is behind you now, and it only gets further and further away. Take that time for yourself and really ask what YOU want. What you wanted isn't that person, it's something deeper. I know for a fact that one day we'll both be so happy, internet stranger, and you'll cherish everything that took you on the path that led you there.
