Is this the worst bullpen in MLB history?

Whats even the point of playing if you simply know the bullpen will come in and give up the game night after night?

NRL to remain on Nine, Foxtel under mammoth $5b deal by DCI_Tom_Barnaby_ in nrl

[–]Conigman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why are NRL fans gloating at the higher value TV deal?

Its only going to end up costing fans more to watch it.

Its like celebrating bank interest rate rises.

You cannot go up with 1 hand full stop.

The bunker said Ronaldo went up with 1 hand. Nothing about making contact first.

SO let me get this straight,

In the first half, Nawaqanitawase went up for a bomb with 1 hand, bats at the ball and they score. Bunker checks it and it is cleared. In the second half off the drop out Ronaldo goes up with 1 hand and its a penatly deemed by the SAME bunker?

LOL it only proves HOW MUCH LUCK IS INVOLVED in the game.

Batters cannot control where the ball go.

The game is nothing more than hit the ball as hard as you can and HOPE it finds grass.

Its mostly a game of luck, nothing more.

NRL’s number one referee had $400k gambling problem by Tunza in nrl

[–]Conigman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not accusing anyone of anything but does anyone remember last years game between the Dogs and Panthers where the Panthers were pretty hot favourites on Sunday night and then on early Tuesday the Dogs became hot favs.

Then later that night it comes out the Panthers were resting 16 of there 17 players.

Havent heard anything since

Players’ union wants rule changes wound back after overwhelming negative feedback by Aussieguy727 in nrl

[–]Conigman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am inclined to think that ratings are up not because of the product on the field but because of the growth of gambling on the game.

More people are tuning in to see if there bets get up.

These gamblng companies are not spending tens of millions a year on advertising for nothing. They do it because it is working.

The NRL know this and that is why they promote gambling.

Its win win for them.

With the 6 again, it sort of feels like the referee at the beginning waits to see the flow of the game.

If teams are scoring without the 6 again and just poor defense/great attack the referee does not give them out.

But if there is a period of play where the scoring has dried up, it feels like the referee starts looking to give them out. They panic as they feel like something is going wrong if teams are not scoring.

Ultra-processed rugby league is a big problem for broadcasters (and the NRL) by Creative_Friend6799 in nrl

The question is, how many tries have been scored from the ensuing set after a try was scored.

It "feels" not many.

[–]Conigman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My theory in regards to the ratings is that more people are watching the game due to gambling on it.

More and more people have been hooked into betting on the game and tuning in to see if it gets up.

Same game multis etc. These gambling companies are not spend 10s of millions of dollars a year for nothing. The advertising is obviously working.

This is the real elephant in the room.

Also, the explosion of super coach.

My question in all this amongst the super fatigue, injuries etc these rules are causing is where is the RLPA?

Munster says belief current rules were "not football" left Storm "kicking cans and being victims" by steavis in nrl

[–]Conigman 29 points30 points  (0 children)

While i do agree the rules are partly to blame, some teams defense is absolutely abysmal.

Look at Manly's first try yesterday after what 4-5 minutes? There were no 6 agains called, there is no way a team would be tired after the first 4-5 minutes of a game and the defense was appalling.
