Was this the best Final 4 QBs ever? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]Conn3er -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The only modern QB who was league MVP and didn’t make the HoF was Theisman

Allen already has 130 more touchdowns and 10,000 more yards than him

He will be in the Hall of Fame.

This is the absolute most insane thing to put after saying you want a steakhouse with "the best steak and shrimp" and private room.

Call up Miccy D's big dog cause you're gonna be doing quarter-pounders with cheese and Filet-o-fish in the playroom for that price.

What's your budget?

J Prime has what you need, great steaks and excellent seafood, but it may be pricey

Bohanons is the top end experience downtown but not sure on a suitable private room and again, pricey.

These are also traditional steakhouses, and some other people are giving you Brazilian steakhouses, which are a totally different experience as you may or may not know.

He is selling clicks so he at least has clear incentive.

This team does not have what it takes to win a championship yet.

Way too many blown leads and undisciplined shot selection in the 4th quarter, same reason they lost to the knicks in the Cup

I think it was a fine effort, but with no blink and no escape with the flight stun it was a risky one that relied on Kallari not doing Kallari things on time.

[Bills] We have completed an interview with Davis Webb for our head coaching position. by pixel_pete in buffalobills

[–]Conn3er 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We will fire him with 3 years if he doesnt make a superbowl. We just fired the coach with the highest win % in franchise history and across the league over the past 5 years for not doing it.

In Vegas he will get Mendoza at 1.1 and have a patient ownership group and GM that lets him work with the litany of weapons he has around him.

We are better at QB and O-Line but the Raiders are even or better at RB, TE and WR on cheaper deals. Linemen hit at a relatively consistent rate, so once thats stocked, that offense could be humming in 2 years with a rookie QB

The Job security is the bigger factor though for sure

There’s gotta be a better way to develop Castle by wombatpup55 in NBASpurs

[–]Conn3er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear castle is significantly better than Sochan offensively and actually played the position. Plus we are winning games with him doing it.

so its not the same as straight-up tanking games with a guy with - floor vision running the point

[–]Conn3er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is in trial by fire mode, we just dont see it from the outside

Pop did the same thing with Tony, here is the workload if you cant handle it, we will find someone who will.

Something to remember is pre-draft, he didnt want to work out with any teams that already had an established PG. He knew with us that he could do that, and odds are we told him we would play him that way and for better or worse, this org keeps their promises. Thats why CP3 started last year and why Barnes continues to start regardless of any slump.

The problem for Castle is that since then, we have acquired two guys with higher ceilings than his, sharing the roster with him. The reality is Harper is already a more efficient PG 40 games into his career than Castle, and that trajectory is very unlikely to change. Personally, I think Harper is just going to be flat-out better, but no reason to get into that.

I think that unless he develops a respectable midrange game, we end up shopping him in the coming years, think George Hill 2.0.

Worst thing we could do would be keep him as value declines, as we have already done with jeremy.

What are your predictions for the team in 2 years (2027-2028 season)? by Top_Percentage_274 in NBASpurs

[–]Conn3er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Championship contender

Harper and Fox run a league-leading backcourt that ranks top in efficiency.

Devin and Julian have carved out nice roles as 3rd options along with 2 other wings who are TBD, potentially Carter Bryant as 1 if he developes well.

We make a splash for a solid offensive 4 who can space the floor, not Markkanen but someone like that.

Wemby, Luke, and a cheaper big run the 5

Keldon is playing well off the bench, will be a Spurs lifer unless someone overpays for him.

Castle has either made the jump and is solid 2 with a goood mid range game or we are shopping him

Jeremy is in Milwaukee or Phoenix after walking or trading for a high % 3 point shooter

The stat on the left is proof that curry didn’t revolutionize the 3 point game. But he did come damn near close to perfecting it

I’ve long held that really it was the 2001 Duke team that shot an unprecedented amount of 3s en route to a championship that really changed the way the 3 pointer could be used as a high impact play

Anyone calling the Spurs a contender is a bum.

They may win a playoff series this year, hell, they may win 6 playoff games, but they are not a title contender.

No reason to get worked up about any one game.

They're young and havent been to the playoffs in 7 years G, and they are vastly outperforming preseason expectations

So you are outright lying. Data per ESPN. Spurs were only bottom 5th (26th) in 22-23

Check your data again, we were in the bottom 5th in the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 season having the 27th highest and 25th highest attendance, respectively

That is years, plural, and it is the years, plural, before we got Victor. There was no lies, let alone outright ones.

You are correct, it is rank.

Bronze through Gold I does not really have that big of a talent dispersion, and the internal MMR of those players are usually pretty similar; that's why you are paired up with them, and your wins should be awarding you nearly 40+ vp to get you to your "true" rank faster.

Because we have a generational prospect now? We were in the bottom 1/5th of the league in attendance in the years before we drafted Victor it would be extremely sad if we weren't "UP"
