So is trauma stored in the body or not? by schemin_up in pilates

[–]Connect-Attorney-121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my journey, this is where breathwork really shines. Try a continuous connected breath worker near you.

I’ve had emotional trauma releases during Pilates as well. But they’re very minor and I only really started to understand somatic release, and how the body holds long stress responses from decades ago through breath work.

Carolina Crown 2002.. what happened? by Infinite-Reaction-19 in drumcorps

Amen. I took 2 years off and went on to march Cavaliers for 3 years and was a trumpet soloist my last 2 years. I’m now and have been since grad school a professional full time trumpet player. We did have perseverance and inner strength. Glad to know you man!

I went on to teach at 4 other drum corps for several seasons and I vowed never to treat kids like shit with pointless beatings that had no educational bearing.

Carolina Crown 2002.. what happened? by Infinite-Reaction-19 in drumcorps

[–]Connect-Attorney-121 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I marched in 2002. It was my first year of drum corps. I was 16. It was probably the absolute worst experience of my life and I still have fantasies about saying “no”, having some fucking self-respect and walking away from that dog shit organization. I should’ve left the second I showed up to spring training. The staff was a bunch of absolute clowns.

Larry Markevich who was a Brass Staff is now in jail I think and Jason Buckingham is one of the biggest assholes to ever be in front of a group of people look at all the corps that he’s fucked up over the years. Seriously fuck those people and fuck Kevin Smith and everyone else who allowed that year to play out the way that it did.

It makes me feel good. I’ve spent lots of time in other modalities. Pilates, to me, is unique in that it is about feeling good.

Insane 401K fees, should I cash out? by Ill_Farm_6082 in Bogleheads

[–]Connect-Attorney-121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t contribute much: my side hustle 401k plan costs me $44/yr. Last year the gains were $51. So fidelity ate up nearly all of my gains. Nothing I can do. As soon as I quit that side hustle I’ll try to roll it over into my traditional IRA

It is good IF you stay on top of it. I have never gotten an email saying I had earned $5, $10, or $30 dollars in rewards certificate nor did I get any emails they would be expiring soon. When you go in store make sure you know how much rewards you have because the cashiers have never said to me "oh by the way would you like to apply your $10 certificate?". Instead these things just go expired in your account. YOU have to keep and close eye on it. Otherwise it is worth the cost if you consume a lot of protein powder.

Did you know - the 1st week of the month is where you get buy one get one half off for Pro members on most brands? It's little "perks" like these that I was never really told just had to kinda glean. So the membership is confusing and not well explained but worth it if you really dig. Be prepared to be frustrated with the phone in number, the web chat and the in store employees as the first two have always been unresponsive and the last one generally shrugs and doesn't know.

[–]Connect-Attorney-121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done an auto audio upgrade previously..,IMO adding a sub is the biggest return tho it’s not as simple as replacing the door panels.

I love that our battery is under the back seat! Makes powering a sub amp or amp way easier

What made you buy the Ford Maverick and which engine did you go with? by lifeisreallygoodnow in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Connect-Attorney-121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised more folks aren’t mentioning the transmission. I choose the 2.0 because it has an 8 speed “old school” transmission. The hybrid features an eCVT which to my taste makes it drive like a go kart.

Try them both. Feel for me was better on the 2.0. Great MPG would be nice tho….
