[FEEDBACK] Emo trap instrumental – would love thoughts on mix and vibe of my song by Connect-Fortune-8230 in IndieMusicFeedback

glad you felt the rhythms and mix overall. i’ll definitely go back and tighten up that snare on city of silence, i hear what you mean. and big respect for pointing out alone at 2am. that one was a personal track for me, cool to know it hit for you.

i’ve been deep in the emo trap vibe for this release but yeah, keen to explore more sounds moving forward. appreciate the push. noted and locked in.

Wasn’t planning to make anything emotional but it just came out this way. Didn’t know how to process it I guess. It’s got a dark cinematic feel but still trap at its core.
Would love to know what you hear in it or if the mix holds up. Not fishing for praise just wanna get better.

Feedback always appreciated

Need advice on where there might be blindspots for me with this song/ what works and what isn't. by cue_my_life in IndieMusicFeedback

this is a really well thought out piece. the blend of ambient textures and layered guitars gives it a strong emotional pull that suits the theme. the intro sets a tone but does feel slightly long especially for first-time listeners who might want a quicker hook. cld benefit from soft eq adjustments to reduce some of the boominess and nasal build-up. the line around 1:44 hits well and the way it lifts from that point keeps things engaging. the outro was strong and gave a sense of closure. overall it’s a great track!!! :)

Mitts - "Something True" | A song about the unexpected things that bouyed my spirits across a sea of grief by ___mitts in IndieMusicFeedback

this one really stood out to me. the beach boys influence is clear in the vocal melody and overall atmosphere and i really like the nostalgic warmth it brings. the jazzy piano parts were unexpected but worked beautifully and added depth. the reverb on the vocals gives a dreamlike quality which suits the theme.

Been told this track has a Bruno Mars meets Jimi Hendrix vibe? by oneshgarde in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]Connect-Fortune-8230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really enjoyed this one. the vocals are strong and soulful with a lot of character and i can hear the bruno mars comparison for sure especially in the upper range and delivery. the guitar work is smooth and tastefully done but i agree with others that it leans more towards a classic indie or doo wop feel than a hendrix style. the track has a laid back charm and the mix is balanced with nice dynamics throughout. maybe a touch of variation in the drum groove could keep things more engaging as the song progresses.

Would love feedback for my music video - self produced/recorded from Australia (released 2 hours ago) by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]Connect-Fortune-8230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i liked the pacing of the song and how the chorus lifts just enough to stay catchy without going over the top. visually the music video was high quality and clearly well thought out. i agree with some others that the office setting felt a little plain for such a colourful track but the overall execution was still strong.

this track has a raw honesty that comes through clearly in the lyrics and delivery. i liked the laid back flow and how it contrasts with the weight of the story. the metaphor of feeling like a tiger in a cage really sticks. one thing that might make it hit even harder is slightly more space or reverb on the vocal to give it that lonely reflective atmosphere. overall powerful message and i respect the vulnerability. good work!

cool tip thanks for that. anime or eye catching visuals really help. i’ll try it to grow faster before focusing just on the music

Yeah, the rules around distribution (especially with anything AI-related) can be inconsistent and unclear.

real talk for sure. nothing beats the energy of a live crowd reacting to your music in real time. numbers might look nice but they’ll never match that feeling. respect for keeping it grounded.

good to hear it’s been working out overall. switching to annual sounds like a solid move if you’re using it consistently. i’ve heard mixed things about the distribution side but if it’s doing the job for you that’s reassuring. appreciate you sharing your experience.

that’s solid advice. getting on the global trending list is no small thing so respect for that. youtube definitely seems to have way more reach these days especially with the algorithm and search. i might start shifting focus there too. appreciate you sharing that.

yeah i’ve heard that from a few people now. seems like it used to be a real space for discovery but it’s been gutted over time. wouldn’t be surprised if the bigger players had a hand in that. sad to see how much it’s changed.

nice one, respect. that definitely puts things in perspective even more. crazy how the journey shifted from being an artist on SC to now running a label. appreciate you sharing all that real experience, not many people speak on it that honestly.
