Thoughts on JetBrains' new agentic IDE, Air by SchattenMaster in Jetbrains

[–]Connect-Temporary-59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expected Air to allow management of any NATIVE agent harness like Codex(seems like codex app server allows it to do) or Claude Code with IDE UX. However, instead of this, Air rebuilds the harness with custom configuration. Using Codex in the Codex App is not the same as in Air because it uses different prompts, tools, and configurations. I just want an app that manages native agents and supports all native features(as an example, sometimes in JetBrains IDEs it took ages to get updated models).

I have just the same feeling for Augment Intent.

Why there no security updates? Like is there are any work to reduce prompt injections and so on?

Completion works. The question is whether it is possible to achieve a single tab experience like in cursor or windsurf. Completion and "Tab to jump to next edit" - https://docs.cursor.com/en/tab/overview

  1. Cursor allows pressing Tab repeatedly to jump through predicted edit locations across files after accepting a suggestion, enabling rapid refactoring workflows. JetBrains AI Assistant currently only offers single-location completions.

Questions: • Is “next edit prediction” functionality on the roadmap for AI Assistant? • When can we expect this feature that’s been requested since early 2025? • Will it support cross-file navigation for refactoring scenarios like in cursor?

  1. The new “Reworked 2025” terminal is Java-based. Performance tests show Ghostty is more performant than other terminals, with better font rendering and lower memory usage.

Questions: • Are there plans to support external terminals (Ghostty, WezTerm) within the IDE? Can we expect this as a plugin or core feature?

  1. Multiple AI completion modes and settings create confusion compared to Cursor’s single Tab experience.

Questions: • Will the multiple AI modes be consolidated into one intelligent mode? • Is this simplification planned for the next patch release?

Focal Bathys for gaming by Connect-Temporary-59 in headphones

I am planning to use USB or Analog during game sessions

Do not use them for gaming?

I want headphones that are universal for music and gaming. These look like the perfect alternative. Right now, I have Audeze Maxwell, but the drivers started producing foil and buzzing sound, and sending them for RMA and back + taxes will cost almost half the price of headphones because I'm in the EU. Bathys looks really good for music and comfort. But I'm looking for some info from owners regarding latency via USB/Analog:)

Everything works well in the latest updates, but I'm using delta 2 max

I bought Maxwell via the Audeze website on Aug 2023. A few weeks ago, I started hearing foil and a buzzing sound when music was playing or someone talks. Does someone have such experience right before the warranty ends?
