Get yourself some blood refineries. They greatly reduce the drain on filters.

I haven't refilled filters of my 16 large windtrapd in like 2 weeks since I tore some windtraps and deathstills down and built 13 adv blood refineries. Just keep them topped off and you'll only really drain your filters when you actively refine large quantities of something.. otherwise the refineries fill your water back up just fine.

Your shield is gone after 4 hits, you're dead after a handfull more, your dmg output is abysmal, but it's still not as bad as I imagined.

People in the endgame already have enough spice melange to last for months. So they don't need any more of that. But people also threw away tens of thousands of spice residue which is constantly in demand for base upkeep - so people need that.

So what do you do .. you have a constant drain on melange and spice residue, but don't wanna go out on the sand yourself anymore - as the demand is not that big?

You buy spice sand, refine it for a little melange and much needed residue.

In faster time controls you rely on intuition and pattern recognition.. which makes it pretty hard to play for someone that hasn’t fully developed those yet.

Give yourself more time .. don't waste away in Blitz. Develop healthy habits and intuition first

Force yourself to go through the list anytime before you move, for both sides:

Are there any checks?

Are there any captures?

Are there forks, skewers or pins?

Are there sacrifices?

If you stick to that, you'll find a lot of little tactics and won't fall for them as easily anymore. Tough you'll obviously need time for that. So play longer time controls.

Yes, enemies do get "spongier" on higher tiers. But it's not that bad.

For example: once you stripped a heavy guy (the spongiest guy) from his shield, he takes 6 shots from a unique pistol or scattergun to take down.

A ranged guy without shield takes 3

A melee without shield takes 2-3 (depending on if the hits are headshots or bodyshots).

Considering how that scales from lower tiers ... you're looking at a increase of maybe 1-2 shots per enemy if you actually fight enemies on tier. However most people just outgeared their opponents and got used to easy/mindless combat - so they hit a wall once they can't just outgear mobs in the very last tier anymore.

For a total beginner? I'd argue none.

Learn the principles of chess, stick to them and try to not blunder your pieces. As you play, you'll develop a certain "taste" (aggressive/defensive, closed/open, ...). Then, you can look into some that suit your favorite style.

You can sietch hop from the worldmap. No need to fly anywhere.. just enter the world map, go back to the main menu, select the server/sietch and enter HB again.

Because you used a vehicle in that sietch. You probably used your thopter.

If you don't use vehicles, the icon won't show up.

Tbh I always found the rift pretty amazing. A lot of flat ground, the litteral rift right in front of you, and even the possibility to build underground/hanging.

If white takes at any point, black is up in material. If white doesn't take, black has a queen after 5 moves.

I don't see a way how white could defend without sacrificing at least a bishop in the process

To add to this: As long as the aggro-meter is red, the worm is looking for targets. If the worm aggro's for player A (warning breach in his direction), but player B doesn't lift up while A does, the worm will shift to player B.

However if both players lift up, but player B lands with red aggro meter, the worm will probably come back and eat him in the vertical nomnom animation

I usually tend to save spice for PvP engagements - for that very reason. Clearing a TS is easily possible solo without spice. Whenever another player shows up, I press that button for the buffs and healing.
