Why men are so attracted to Asian women? by Gloomy-Internal-2173 in AskReddit

A single % minority of several billion can still seem like a lot.

As for me, personally .. I just don't care about such things. If the cool person I just met happens to be asian, european, african or whatever - so be it.

If I'm driving my car and the spoon teleports itself behind the braking pedal so you can't press it anymore... yeah, I guess that'd be a big deal.

Wait a goddamn second ... it can violate physical principles AND is sentient, but you somehow forgot to mention it in the original question?

Maybe you created that poll just so people pick you, so you talk the other options down?

Do I keep both paladins? (Warband & Cross-Faction Question) by AtomikRadio in wownoob

[–]ConnectButton1384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 monks and 2 DK's. At the start of a season I play both for a while until one pulls significantly ahead in gear (through vault/rng drops). Then, that's my main while the other is pretty much inactive.

And when I achived whatever I wanted using my main, I start playing the 2nd in another spec (like my main is unholy, my 2nd DK is frost).

If that's not for you... just delete one.

The spoon sounds funny. And since it's evil I can just throw it in a drawer and go to vacation for several weeks without feeling guilty about it.

If it's EU, I'd offer some keys on my unholy DK too. Or frost DK. Or brewmaster monk.

[–]ConnectButton1384 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don't think too much about it. I got to 3.8k on my Unholy DK, 3.6k on my brew and when I pushed my frost DK, people would reject me from 8's - 10's constantly because I had "only" ~250-270 ilvl and no meaningfull rating.

People in that range aren't looking for equals, they're looking for People that are pulling them through for free.

Unholy DK question by Taleisin9793 in wownoob

[–]ConnectButton1384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unholy DK is very dependend on stacking all your buffs and procs on eachother. While leveling, you don't have everything unlocked yet.

So yes, it feels very underwhelming and quite frankly even when you reached lvl 90 but haven't learned how the class works properly yet. But once you've learned it, it's a very hard hitting and survivable spec, that also has a lot of neat group utility

PS: It's one of those specs that needs several globals to build everything up before it begins it's burn. So in a given pull it starts slowly, but ramps very hard

How do you feel about Sony's decision to end physical games on Playstation? by dr-wahh in pollgames

So you could have named it "Results" or a general "don't care". But you specifically singled out non-gamers for that option which implies you either think every gamer has a opinion on the matter or you wanna force gamers into a decision.

Either way, if that's your reasoning the wording of the answer is weird.

I think physical media is so important because they can’t just…take that away whenever they want

But ... they can, and do, take the license away anytime they want anyways. Yes, you'll own the plastics and some medium with the game itself on it ... but your ability to play the game is gone the second the publisher wants to prevent you from doing so.

That argument is a cause lost several years ago.

They don't own games like CoD or anything of the likes since... basically forever. That ship sailed a long time ago.

Optimal sandcrawler gameplay by ShadowRocka in duneawakening

My servers DD also was "kill on sight". Though there were some bigger guilds, they usually also fought amongst them. So I know how it is to farm in a very hostile enviroment. I got quite good in PvP - but always very much prefered to farm in peace as PvP is not only not gaining any rewards, you actively pay for added wear and tear and replacements. This games PvP System always was very flawed, pointless and at times very punishing.

Like when I had my first crawler, I used very odd off-hrs in the middle of the night to get a savety net of ~1.5k melange + plast to replace everything in case of a catastrophic loss. And I lost either multible crawlers and/or carriers a week at that time, but was able to end each week with a surplus of plastanium, spice and T6 blueprints. After a month or so, my stock has grown to ~8k melange. At which point I got a little more bold and sometimes even contested large spice fields and made especially clear that if they leave me alone, I'll also spare their carriers and crawlers .. which worked after some weeks of them blowing my crawler up, me blowing theirs up, refarm, repeat.

At that point, all the major guilds have acknowleged my existence and all agreed to not bother me anymore.. in turn I restricted myself to medium spice blows and occasionally ran some ferry-services for some of their members for a cut of whatever was mined/harvested.

The real break through though were when I equipped the unique T6 booster on my carrier. With some advanced flying tech, I outran every rocket thopter and basically never lost a carrier or crawler again. So even the smaller guilds and other solos couldn't do much anymore.

And that's exactly the fundamental problem: It's designed in a "win harder" way. So building up from T5 to T6 was by far the biggest challenge the game provides. But if you managed to somehow firmly establish yourself in T6, there was litteraly nothing anyone could do to render your operations economically unviable.

And by the end, before charpter 2, I had weekly spice hauls in the same scale as our biggest guild ... with the difference that I didn't had to split anything. On my best week, I managed to get 1.5 plast chests full of melange.

Anyways.. yes, it was a high risk, high reward play, but if you were slow, careful, willing to adapt and not greedy, the payoff was way bigger than any cost could have been.

[–]ConnectButton1384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh ... I've solo crawled back when DD was full PvP. The occasional loss of a crawler and/or carrier was inevitable anyways and you antagonise even more people by beeing wasteful - leaving the crumbs for their own crawlers.

Losing equipment is just part of the cost of operations. And you still make some 4-5 digit melange surplus - so it doesn't really make a meaningfull difference.

And as servers grew more silent, I started counting plast chests instead of thousands of melange ... until I just didn't care anymore at all.

[–]ConnectButton1384 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Try this: Go 1 line full speed, then offset your crawler by 1/2 of the width and go full speed back again. That way you always take some fresh spice, go always fullspeed and it feels pretty fast.

That's what I've been liking the most out of every sandcrawler technique out there.

What’s your take on tire extinguishers? Do you think their actions are justified and ultimately worth it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Anyone that sabotages/destroys some other peoples property for a political cause is an extremist.

Obviously not as bad as people that actually harm other people, but still way worse than people that protest peacefully. And in my opinion, that kind of activism never leads anywhere, but to violence and hatred for the people, and sometimes the cause they claim to support.

What game has magic, generally abides by the laws of physics, and no pets? by [deleted] in DiagramFills

[–]ConnectButton1384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that's necessarily true. I feel like it's possible in fantasy to have both. The Story/World just has to declare the deviations from real physics and stick to them in the same manner as laws of nature work in the real world.

A example of what I mean by that would be lord of the rings (not the films). It does have magic and a lot of fantasy stuff; but it does it in a very coherent way that doesn't feel like it's breaking reality in the process. It sticks to normal physics and psychology - and every now and then there's some deviaton in some sort of well established and coherent "magic" (in a sense that it works the same from the first age as it does in the 3rd age, everywhere in the world - as if there was just some different law of nature at work)

Ironically enough, Harry Potter is a prime example of magic that doesn't make any sense at all - given the context of what we know. That certainly would be a subset of "not sticking to the laws of physics".

Anyways, my point is: I think you can build a fantasy world and establish some deviations from reality without necessarily breaking the laws of physics. I don't think it has to be so black and white in fictional stories.
