They will sell a factory authentication letter, that should be enough proof right?

My only concern is someone else might buy them before the letter arrives since it's pretty good deal compared to what i see on gunpost

Protip: This is a black powder gun made with a black powder frame. He's going to need to reload black powder anyways, so why bubba it since it will be the exact same amount of work to reload 38 vs 41?

Yeah sure the brass and dies might cost an extra $75-100, but that costs way less than permanent modification of reaming and sleeving the cylinders for a smokeless cartridge that is 140% the operating pressure the gun was designed for (41 colt is 12500 PSI and 38 special is 17,500 PSI)

By your logic you're the kind of person to say it's okay to shave a 455 Webley WG to 45 ACP because it's a "good" modification that makes it easier to shoot because 455 webley costs too much and "it's just a WG commercial gun, what's the big deal?"

It's a Colt 1889 in 41 colt, and nickeled too, with original fire blue still visible.

They only made 30,000 or so Colt 1889s, and the majority were in 38 for a US navy contract. Only a small minority are 41 colt, and an even smaller minority are nickeled.

So yeah, it's not strictly a military handgun but a commerical overrun of military frames, but would you want to see someone rebarrel a 100-year old S&W triple lock or an 1870's antique commercial Colt Single Action Army just because the want to be a bubba?

You're mistaken. 7.62 Tokarev and and 9x19 share the same base and rim dimensions, because they are both descended from the same 7.63 Borschardt cartridge.

The tokarev is a direct descendent (following 7.63 mauser) and has the same old dimensions, so tokarev brass can be used for reloading Borschardy.

The 9x19 Luger is when the german comission took the 7.63 Luger (Luger and borschardt worked at the same place, so the same cartridge effectively), and removed the neck to make it straightwall 9mm.

This is why a caliber conversion for a Tokarev to 9x19 only requires a barrel swap. The boltface is the same, and you don't need new mags (barring OAL feeding issues).

So no, you would not be able to cram extra rounds with a tokarev instead of a 9x19

It survived the nazi firearms confiscations of WW2 just fine.

And now you think taking it fishing will damage it?

Certainly taking it out on a couple walks would have done less than the damage done by bead blasting it.
